Shinigami (死神, death god(s); Viz "Soul Reaper(s)") are guardians of the souls who are going through the circle of transmigration. In ancient times, they were known as Balancers (調整者 (バランサー),Baransā). They purify Hollows who do evil in the World of the Living and ensure the safe crossing of souls - the Pluses who have lost their way after death - by giving them a soul burial. Shinigami are the opposite of the Quincy.

Shikai (始解, Initial Release) is the second (or first upgraded) form available to a Zanpakutō. To activate it, the Shinigami needs to learn the name of their Zanpakutō. This is not as easy as simply picking a name, for the living spirit of the Zanpakutō already has its own name. The Shinigami must be able to communicate and harmonize with their Zanpakutō effectively, which requires being able to speak to the spirit within its world

- Release unlocks 1 passive release ability and 5 technique slots when activated. These techniques must be based around the release ability.

- Shikai release boost: +4,000 reiatsu and +4 to all stats note that this numbers will not be doubled by your class and specialty skill.

Bankai (卍解, Final Release) is the second and final upgraded form of a Zanpakutō. To achieve Bankai, one must be able to materialize and subjugate their Zanpakutō spirit. Materialization means the opposite of getting dragged into the Zanpakutō's inner world: the wielder needs to summon the Zanpakutō's spirit into the physical world. It usually takes 10 years or more to achieve, plus the experience needed to master it.

- Must be 60,000 Reiatsu

- Must post a 1,500 WC learning

- Release unlocks 1 passive release ability and 5 technique slots when activated. These techniques must be based around the release ability. (Can use Shikai abilities in Bankai).

- Bankai Release Boost: +12,000 reiatsu and +12 to all stats note that this numbers will not be doubled by your class and specialty skill. (This completely replaces Shikai Release reiatsu and stats).

Hollowfication (AKA Vaizard) This is a process by which a Shinigami manifests an inner hollow, and either overcomes, or succumbs to the said inner hollow. Due to the nature of the release, and how few were in the show, it will require a certain amount of 'fate points' to acquire, and 1,500 wc of 'story' at the least about the transition from Shinigami to vaizard.

May purchase High Speed Regen upon becoming a Vaizard, specifics of how it works found under hollow section.

Vaizard Mask Unmastered

-Requires 25,000 Reiatsu

Shunko An advanced battle technique which combines the physical techniques of Hakuda with the spell-based techniques of Kidō. The user focuses 'raw kido' to the limbs of their bodies, and in turn increases their physical capability. The user of this technique is also capable of launching this raw kido as a form of projectile attack, and seemingly capable of utilizing elements such as wind or lightning.

Shuko Unmastered

-Requires 25,000 Reiatsu

-Must post 1,500 WC Learning

-when activated gain the passive ability to manipulate reiryoku into projectiles is either raw kido or an element based on Zanpakuto if applicable. 

- when active gain access to 1 technique slots when activated. These techniques must be based around your raw kido or element.

- physical  attacks are still strength and raw kido/elemental projectile attacks are reiryoku .

Mastered Shunko (Replaces Unmastered)

Duality Effect

"Dual-Zanpakuto- Spirit Tempest": Grants the Shinigami access to a second Zanpakuto (which is naturally accompanied by having a second Inner-Spirit and second physical Zanpakuto weapon).

Spirit-Tempest: Upon releasing their Zanpakuto, Shinigami are able to unleash a single defensive blast of Reiryoku that can correspond with their Zanpakuto elements. This Defensive blast will seek out an incoming enemy attack and it can be used once per available Zanpakuto. Basically uses the act of releasing one's Zanpakuto as a defensive barrier or shield.

First and Foremost:

YOU MUST POST THE SPELL YOU'RE LEARNING INSIDE YOUR CHARACTER STAT PAGE

All of the sentences have to be related to the learning of the spell. Also learning doesn't stack.

Example: You can't spend 350 words learning Sai and then say well I'm pretty close so I might as well type 50 more and learn Hainawa because that will equal 400 words. You have to type up a whole new grouping of sentences dedicated to learning a new spell.

I know there are a few mass posters out there and I just want to let you know that you CAN NOT make one massive post and learn five spells. You can only learn one spell every 3 days(real life days), and you must also stick within the learning constraints already in place. Please not that Kyakko cannot be used in combat situations. "Auto-hit" Kidō such as Geki and Sai that have drastic effects seemingly instant will in fact act as actual attacks moving towards the enemy, to give them a chance to dodge.

**Note: You may learn Kidō at a 10% WC reduction if taught by a player Shinigami who already knows the spell.

With that out of the way:

Kidō

("demon way" or "spirit way"; sometimes translated as Demon Arts; Viz "Soul Reaper's powers"; "Spells") is a form of Shinigami combat that is based on advanced spells that are produced with strong Reiryoku and fall into two categories: Hadō for direct attacks, and Bakudō for battle support. It is one of the techniques in the Zankensoki, the group of Shinigami primary combat skills. Kidō spells are triggered by an incantation. Experienced users can trigger them without an incantation, though the effectiveness of the spell will be diminished.

Each spell is graded on a scale from 1 to 99, the latter being the most powerful and the most difficult to perform. The scale is a measure of difficulty. To use Kidō , a Shinigami must recite the specific incantation for the spell, which is often long and requires a few seconds to speak. The power of a spell relies on the power of the user, as even a low-level spell can be utterly devastating when utilized by a high-class Shinigami. Kidō can also be used for practical purposes as well. Renji Abarai has demonstrated that a kidō spell can be used to light a dark hallway if the spell is tweaked in the right way, with less power. Kidō is commonly seen used in instances of surprise attacks, rather than all-out assaults, being most effective when one's opponent doesn't see it coming. Kidō is also usable with just the spell name and no incantation or spell number.

Bakudō:

(lit. "Way of Binding"): Supplementary spells that can immobilize an enemy or have an effect besides a direct strike. They may seem subtle, but these spells can give their users a tactical advantage when used properly. These are a broad category of defensive spells which block/repel attacks or freezes enemies in place. This class of spells include Kidō Barriers and Seals.

Barriers: Focused spiritual energy formed into a solid form of energy. This energy can take on many shapes or colors as determined by the user. Barriers are protective in nature and can be as simple as barrier only protecting one direction or encompass all sides of an area. Barriers also use for containment while some barriers can be used offensively. Barriers are also capable of masking spiritual pressure and can make one spiritually and physically invisible. A strength of a barrier is dependent upon the power of the user. Weak barriers are easily breakable while strong ones can last for centuries. Barriers created by noble blood are said to be unbreakable by those of lesser status. Certain barriers can be placed beforehand and activated later, while others require certain artifacts and time to activate.

Seals: Are somewhat similar to barriers, but are far more powerful and require far more preparation to create. Seals are only possible to use by those of sufficient spiritual power being that are meant to hold the most powerful and/or dangerous artifacts or beings. Seals are commonly hard to break.

Hadō:

(lit. "Way of Destruction"): Offensive spells that inflict direct damage to the enemy. Their effectiveness differs depending on the user. It is said that the effectiveness of the higher-ranked spells are beyond imagination

Kaidō:

(lit. "Turn Way") These spells do not have known names, numbers, or incantations to cast, and simply heal the target. When one heals with regular healing Kidō, they perform Reiatsu restoration first. By doing so, one can attempt to recover the physical body using the patient's restored reiatsu and the healer's external reiatsu. Therefore, restoring the reiatsu when the physical body is in a fully healed state is no trouble at all.

Kaidō Rules:

-Cannot use on yourself unless you are a hollow; even then, only out of combat.

-Not restricted by the Captain Rank rule (aka those that have 101 can learn if they are not a captain/espada/ranking official)

-Final tier (201-250) of reiryoku lowers healing post requirements by 1 post (ex: Minor cuts/Bruises is 2 posts, lowers to 1 post).

Academy Level Kidō:

Other students CANNOT teach other students spells. You must learn them from either an NPC teacher or a high ranking shinigami that has already graduated from the academy.

This level of Kidō is the most basic level as there is no Reiryoku requirments (aka how many points you have in your Reiryoku state). Except for Kaido, to be able to learn it you need a minimum of 41 points in Reiryoku.

Bakudō # 1: Sai - 350 Words

Meaning: Restrain

Description: Shoots a golden (restraint) Kanji of reiryoku out of user's hand that attempts to bind the opponents arms behind their back if it hits; less experienced users can only shoot kanji the size of their torso, while advanced Kidō users can produce Kanji the size of the average full grown adult.

Bakudō # 4: Hainawa - 400 words

Meaning: Crawling Rope

Description: An energy rope shoots from the users hand and tries to entangle the target's arms. May not be controlled; point and shoot.

Incantation: Unknown.

Bakudō # 8: seki - 425 words

Meaning: Repulsion

Description: Creates a round shield in front of the user that seems to temporarily paralyze and repel whatever strikes it within reason; a Seki is not going to block a hit from a legendary warrior. Reiryoku based.

Bakudō # 9: Geki - 455 words

Meaning: Strike

Description: Shoots a cone of red light 120 degrees in front of the user, trying to bathe the target in red light and completely paralyze them.

Incanation: "Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!"

Bakudō # 11: Horin - 455 words

Meaning: Disintegrating Circle

Description: Causes an orange hued tendril with spiraling yellow patterns to erupt from the users hand and attempt to trap a target. The end of it remains in the hands of the user allowing them to control the path of the tendril before and after capture. The Kidō is able to connect with another one of itself if both have captured a target and bind them together.

Bakudō # 21: Sekienton - 460 words

Meaning: Red Smoke Escape

Description: Creates a blast upon activation and is used like a ninja's smoke bomb, shrouding the area in red smoke up to 15 feet around the user; advanced Kidō users can extend that radius to 20 feet. Does not immediately remove you from combat.

Bakudō # 26: Kyakko - 600 words

Meaning: Curving Light

Description: Hides the target from sight, by bending light. The spell has the ability to totally hide the presence and reiatsu of the user or specified object. *Can not be used in combat. Must deactivate it before attacking. Users 30,000 reiatsu above your own can see through it.

Bakudō # 30: Shitotsu Sansen - 650 words

Meaning: Beak-Piercing Triple Beam

Description: Forming a golden triangle with one's finger, it shoots three beams of light that pin the target to one place on a surface, slamming into his or her body in three places in a shape of a perfect triangle.

Meaning: Shot of Red Fire

Description: Fires a ball of red energy at the target.

Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!"

Hadō #32: Ōkasen - 730 words

Meaning: Yellow Fire Flash

Description: Fires a wide arc of yellow energy at a target. It's width and length are almost unavoidable at close range.

Hadō # 33. Sōkatsui - 750 words

Meaning: Blue Fire Crash Down

Description: Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at a target in a similar manner to #31, but over a wider area and with more power.

Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws."

Description: As the user holds his/her hands above the patient's wounds, his/her palms glow with green spiritual energy to facilitate healing. This spell allows a shinigami to heal others from Minor cuts and bruises.

Chiryōyō Kidō: Moderate Cuts/Fractured Bones - 600 words

Meaning: Healing Turn Way

Description: As the user holds his/her hands above the patient's wounds, his/her palms glow with green spiritual energy to facilitate healing. This spell allows a shinigami to heal others from moderate cuts and fractured bones.

-Will take 2.5 Posts to heal completely

Vice Captain Level Kidō:

You need to be at least 30k reiatsu to learn these spells. From there on you can learn them on your own. This is the more advanced form of Kidō that's used by vice captains or high seated officers. As such to be able to learn it you need a minimum of 40 points in Reiryoku. Except for Kaido, to be able to learn it you need a minimum of 61 points in Reiryoku.

Bakudō # 37: Tsuriboshi - 800 words

Meaning: Suspending Star

Description: Tsuriboshi is primarily used to catch. The spell creates a ball of blue energy that fires out six "ropes" from its center. The "ropes" attach themselves to any sturdy nearby object and the energy in the center solidifies into a flat elastic-like cushion. The spell can stop falling objects similar to a safety net.

Bakudō # 39: Enkōsen - 830 words

Meaning: Round Lock Fan

Description: Enkōsen is primarily used for defense. The practitioner can use either both hands or his/her Zanpakutō in a blocking motion. The spell generates a dull yellow energy, which takes the form of a large spinning disk of condensed reiatsu, in front of the practitioner, blocking an opponent's attack within reason. Reiryoku based.

Bakudō # 58: Kakushitsuijaku 1,350 words

Meaning: Summoning of the Tracking Sparrows

Description: The practitioner draws a circle, with the appropriate symbols set apart in four quadrants upon the ground, using a black powder. When they place their hands palms down just under the circle to activate the spell, the circle glows with a blue light as the symbols within the circle are animated, causing various numbers to appear within until the specific set is found. Target must be in the same dimension and you must know the target; both their reiatsu and have something of theirs.

Incantation: "Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain."

Bakudō # 61: Rikujōkōrō - 1,380 words

Meaning: Six Rods Prison of Light

Description: The practitioner points his/her index finger at the target, generating a spark of yellow energy in front of the user, which summons six thin, wide beams of light that shoot from the spark and towards target's midsection from six different directions to hold them in place. The target is unable to move any part of their body, including the parts which were not struck by the beams. If one beam hits, the other five lock on.

Incantation: "Carriage of thunder, bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six!"

Bakudō # 62: Hyapporankan - 1,390 words

Meaning: Hundred Steps Fence

Description: The practitioner, generating a blue-white glowing rod of energy in his/her hand, throws it at the intended target. It multiplies into a hundred more rods, which, raining down on the target, pin him or her against a solid surface and completely immobilize them. It is hard to dodge in a small area.

Bakudō # 63: Sajō Sabaku - 1,500 words

Meaning: Locking Bondage Stripes

Description: The practitioner, raising his/her palm up to the target, closes his/her hand into a fist. The user calls forth yellow energy, taking a form of very thick rope, which ensnares the opponent, similar to Bakudō #4 but much stronger, instead binding the upper body of the target.

Bakudō # 73: Tozanshō - 1,700 words

Meaning: Inverse Mountain Crystal

Description: As the spell ignites at a single point, blue energy extends upward to four points, which creates an inverted pyramid that solidifies into a barrier around the caster. The spell is usable around other already active spells.It can be used to trap others inside of it.

Hadō # 54: Haien - 1,400 words

Meaning: Abolishing Flames

Description: The practitioner fires an oblong blast of purple spiritual energy from their hand that erupts and immolates a target completely when it makes contact.

Hadō # 57: Daichi Tenyō - 1,425

Meaning: Upturned Earth Dance

Description: The practitioner thrusts their hands outward, causing objects around them to levitate and throwing them toward the destination which the wielder chooses. The technique is precise enough to counter opposing flying objects.

Hadō # 58: Tenran - 1,450 words

Meaning: Orchid Sky

Description: The practitioner, levitating their Zanpakutō, lightly hits one end, causing it to spin like a fan. The practitioner, stopping it, creates a widening tornado-like blast, which is fired forward toward the target.A hand is usable as a catalyst of the spell if the Zanpakutō is not available.

Hadō # 63: Raikōhō - 1,450 words

Meaning: Thunder Roar Sear

Description: A lighting-type attack.The practitioner, generating yellow spiritual energy into his/her hand, forms an orb, which is fired at the target with a massive concentrated strike of energy. The effect has devastatingly destructive results.

Incantation: "Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!"

Hadō # 73: Sōren Sōkatsui - 1,645 words

Meaning: Twin Lotus Blue Fire, Crash Down

Description: An advanced form of Sōkatsui, it has twice the effectiveness. The practitioner, generating blue spiritual energy with his/her index and middle fingers, fires it as a concentrated blast at the intended target. It is essentially a doubled version of Hadō #33, Sokatsui, as the user fires "two" blue bursts of blue spiritual energy with much greater potency than the single shot variety.

Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens."

Description: As the user holds his/her hands above the patient's wounds, his/her palms glow with green spiritual energy to facilitate healing. This spell allows a shinigami to heal others from major wounds and gashes.

Captain Level Kidō:

Only Captains can learn these spells, but you can learn it on your own now.

This is the more advanced form of Kidō as such you need at least 100 points in Reiryoku.

Bakudō # 75: Gochūtekkan - 1,660 words

Meaning: Quintet of 1 kan Iron Pillars

Description: As the practitioner clasps their hands together, five small yellow orbs with skinny tails emerge from between their clasped hands. Moving up above their head, they form into a circle of five. The practitioner, raising their clasped hands up above their head, lowers them downwards, sending the orbs into the ground. As a bright light is generated in the sky above the intended target, five incredibly tall and thick pillars, which are connected to each other by chains, pin the target to the ground.

Incantation: "Walls of iron sand, a priestly pagoda, glowing ironclad fireflies. Standing upright, silent to the end."

Bakudō # 77: Tenteikūra - 1,720 words

Meaning: Heavenly Rickshaws in Silken Air

Description: Transmits one's voice to a large number of people simultaneously, often utilized during large-scale battles.Tenteikō«ra is primarily used for communication. The practitioner draws symbols upon his/her arms, hands, and the ground using a black powder. The practitioner, placing his/her palms away in front, generates a glowing rectangular box, and enacts various movements of the hands to create various root-like extensions in the air, which connect to the glowing rectangle. Upon placing his/her hands up to the rectangle and activating the spell, the root-like extensions glow, creating a network extending out from the rectangle. The spell transmits messages mentally to anyone within an area of the caster's choosing. In addition to reciting the spell, the user must draw specific markings on their arms, which are animated by the spell, to convey the messages. The messages can be spoken either by the caster or by another within the vicinity of the caster. Can only send messages to people in the same dimension and within a reasonable distance.

Meaning: Splitting Void

Description: A defensive wall is created to protect against an enemy's attack.The practitioner creates a translucent barrier in the form of a large rectangular wall. According to Byakuya it is capable of stopping Kidō-based attacks with power up to level 89.

Bakudō # 99: Kin - 3,000 words

Meaning: Seal

Description: The practitioner holds their palms away from themselves, with their arms extended out to the sides, and clasps their hands together, with the fingers intertwined intricately. The spell binds the arms of a target to their back like Bakudō #1, but with spiritual fabric and iron shafts. The practitioner slams his/her fingers into the ground, releasing white spiritual energy which forms into a white fabric. As the fabric wraps around the opponent completely, covering him/her from head to toe (First Song), the opponent, being stabbed by numerous metal bolts (Second Song), is smashed with an immense metal cube from above (Final Song)

Description: The practitioner generates a large amount of energy from their Zanpakutō before blasting it outward with enough power to level a building.

Hadō # 88: Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō - 2,450 words

Meaning: Flying Dragon-Striking Heaven-Shaking Thunder Cannon

Description: A high-level Hadō which only Kidō masters can use.The practitioner raises his/her arm forward and outstretched, occasionally using their free hand to grip the firing arm for extra support, with the palm facing flat toward the target, and fires a gigantic beam of electrical and spiritual energy which creates an enormous explosion

Meaning: Black Coffin

Hadō #91: Senjū Kōten Taihō - 3,000 words

Meaning: Thousand-Hand Bright Heaven Culling-Sear

Description: The user generates around ten pink energy points in the air around them and fires them all at the same focal point where the intended target resides. The culminating explosion is exceedingly devastating as a condensed blast of spiritual energy befitting of a #90+ Kidō.

Incantation: "Limit of the thousands hands, respectful hands, unable to touch the darkness. Shooting hands unable to reflect the blue sky. Meaning: Healing Turn Way

Description: As the user holds his/her hands above the patient's wounds, his/her palms glow with green spiritual energy to facilitate healing. This spell allows a shinigami to heal others from shattered Bones and Broken Bones

Chiryōyō Kidō: Reattach severed Appendages - 4,800 words

Meaning: Healing Turn Way

Description: As the user holds his/her hands above the patient's wounds, his/her palms glow with green spiritual energy to facilitate healing. This spell allows a shinigami to reattached limbs of others as long as they still have them.

-Will take 5 Posts to heal completely

Forbidden Kidō:

The Forbidden Kidō spells take 5,000 words each to learn, but you can only do that once you have become Captain of the Kidō Corps. If Kidō Captain the restrictions put on Bakudō and Hadō proficiency are lift and you can learn all of them if you wish. You will also need to be maxed out in your Reiryoku stat in order to learn it.
