  1. The Shinigami - Shinigami (死神, death god(s); Viz "Soul Reaper(s)") are guardians of the souls who are going through the circle of transmigration. In ancient times, they were known as Balancers (調整者 (ãƒãƒ©ãƒ³ã‚µãƒ¼), BaransÄ). They purify Hollows who do evil in the World of the Living and ensure the safe crossing of souls - the Pluses who have lost their way after death - by giving them a soul burial. Shinigami are the opposite of the Quincy. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ What Makes a Shinigami? Shinigami are unearthly beings living in a world ruled by a different logic than the World of the Living. They possess high Reiryoku and a body of Reishi. They are invisible to those without spiritual powers. ShinÅreijutsuin (真央霊術院, Spiritual Arts Academy), sometimes called the Shinigami Academy. Located in the Seireitei, the academy trains Souls with spiritual powers for each of the three military arms of Soul Society. When souls with exceptional spiritual energy train their bodies, they reach the level of Shinigami. The most talented of them become affiliated with various organizations like the Gotei 13 and the OnmitsukidÅ. The majority of potential Shinigami are born among the residents of the Seireitei, but in some rare cases are born in the Rukongai. Shinigami receive salaries, like workers in the Human World and also earn bounties for defeating Hollows. All Shinigami have vents at their wrists which release their Reiatsu. - Shinigami have a number of supernatural abilities: Longevity: Shinigami do not visibly age at the same rate as Humans and tend to maintain a youthful appearance for centuries. Shinigami can live for much longer than Humans, with some Shinigami being over 1,000 years old and does not reach old age before being at least 2,100 years old. Enhanced Durability: While Shinigami can be injured and killed like regular Humans, it takes considerably greater injuries to kill a Shinigami than it would to kill Humans. Decapitation is the only guaranteed method of killing a Shinigami. Reiryoku: Shinigami naturally possess high levels of Spiritual Power, which varies greatly in magnitude with the strength of a Shinigami. The more power a Shinigami has, the sharper their movements will be. A consequence of having Spiritual Power is that unlike powerless spirits, Shinigami need to eat. Reiatsu: The Reiatsu of a Shinigami will continue to ceaselessly flow, for as long as the heart is still beating. If the heart beats then it is an impossibility for the Reiatsu to cease. Due to this reasoning the prisoners that are kept imprisoned in the "Muken" cannot die as there is no executioner in Soul Society with the power to stop their heart. ZanpakutÅ: A Shinigami weapon, its shape is typically similar to a Japanese katana. Low ranking officers are issued an Asauchi sword, but high-ranking officers arm themselves with unique swords generated from their own souls. A ZanpakutÅ is a physical manifestation of this force concentrated into a blade. All Shinigami have a ZanpakutÅ, but not all of them carry one with them. Its shape differs depending on its owner. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ A Shinigami's Duty KonsÅ (魂葬, Soul Burial): the process by which a Shinigami sends wandering Pluses in the Human World to Soul Society if they are good in life or Hell if their life was full of evil acts (such as murders, theft, etc.). KonsÅ is performed by using the hilt of the Shinigami's ZanpakutÅ, tapping the soul on their forehead and transporting them to the afterlife. Hollow Cleansing: When a Shinigami slays a Hollow with their ZanpakutÅ, they cleanse their sins. Once this takes place, a Hollow will return to its former state as a Plus and is led into Soul Society. This is called sublimation. Souls that live in Soul Society are reborn again into the Human World. Not all Hollows are sent to the Soul Society. Since ZanpakutÅ are only capable of cleansing sins committed after becoming a Hollow, Hollows that committed serious crimes when they were still Human are sent to Hell when they are slain. Soul Governance: Shinigami are responsible for governing the flow of spirits between the Human World and Soul Society. This is commonly carried out by balancing the total number of souls by moving and managing them in the Human world. All of the soul-related jobs are under their authority. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Zankensoki Zankensoki are the basic Shinigami fighting techniques. Zan refers to sword fighting techniques. Ken refers to unarmed fighting techniques. So refers to moving techniques. Ki refers to KidÅ. The four categories that make up for the Shinigami battle prowess are the following; Zanjutsu: Sword fighting techniques for the ZanpakutÅ. The most basic fighting technique. Hakuda: An unarmed fighting technique that makes use of one's own body in a fight. HohÅ: The name for all high-speed fighting movements based on the art of Shunpo. KidÅ: Advanced spells that require strong spiritual power: HadÅ, BakudÅ and KaidÅ. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The ZanpakutÅ The ZanpakutÅ of low-ranking Shinigami are called Asauchi and do not have names, but the ZanpakutÅ of Shinigami of rank have names. In its sealed state, a ZanpakutÅ has the form of a Japanese sword. Such weapons are unique swords generated from their owner's souls. Its shape differs depending on its owner. ZanpakutÅ are the trademark weapons of the Shinigami. Capable of cutting spiritual bodies, they are among the few weapons which can be used to combat Hollows. Each Shinigami carries a ZanpakutÅ, and each ZanpakutÅ is unique: the swords are reflections of a Shinigami's power and soul, and sentient beings unto themselves. The ZanpakutÅ's name is the name of the living spirit which empowers the sword and lends its strength to the Shinigami who wields it. These beings can vary greatly in appearance, and have their own distinct personalities, which match their owner's. A ZanpakutÅ's shape and abilities are based on their Shinigami's soul. Once a Shinigami learns his/her sword's name, they can communicate with one another and grow stronger together. ZanpakutÅ are born with their Shinigami, and they die along with their Shinigami. Shinigami use them in battle as a reflection of their heart. When released, they can display a vibrant power. They are one with the Shinigami, and they share a Shinigami's conviction. Inside each ZanpakutÅ is an incarnation which manifests itself upon the ZanpakutÅ's transformation. The first step is to acquaint oneself with this incarnation. - ZanpakutÅ Facts Because they are part of their owner's soul, a ZanpakutÅ cannot be replaced, though it will slowly regenerate if it is broken. The size of the ZanpakutÅ reflects the amount of the swordsman's spiritual power. Exceptions to this rule are beings of immense power, who are required to actively control the size of their ZanpakutÅ. Every ZanpakutÅ has its own name, which the wielder must learn. A ZanpakutÅ can determine if its wielder is worthy of its power. Based on this, the ZanpakutÅ may choose not to give its true Bankai name (and its full potential) if it feels the wielder is not worthy. ZanpakutÅ have a true form. This true form resides inside their Shinigami. A ZanpakutÅ has a mind and a body, which control their powers. Shinigami can grow more powerful by communicating with them. ZanpakutÅ possess their own Reiatsu, which can be sensed as any Reiatsu can and is identical to their wielder's, though with subtle differences. It is possible for a Shinigami to lose harmony with their ZanpakutÅ if they are suffering from mental instability, resulting in the ZanpakutÅ spirit in question unable to hear their wielder's voice, and thus causing the Shinigami to lose access to the sword's Shikai despite knowing its name. No matter what form (or size) a ZanpakutÅ takes, it is always virtually effortless for its owner to wield because it is a part of its owner's soul. Shinigami captains all consciously keep their ZanpakutÅ in a manageable size, or else they would be holding ZanpakutÅ the size of skyscrapers, so one cannot judge the strength of one's opponent solely by the size of their ZanpakutÅ. No ZanpakutÅ in existence has a Shikai and a Bankai which use unrelated abilities. A ZanpakutÅ cannot use elemental attacks of more than one element. - Creating Your Power When creating your Shinigami's power you are for the most part free to use your imagination as far as you can take it. But there are a few taboo's that are heavily frowned upon by the community and should be avoided as best you could. Don't use multiple, unrelated and unexplained elements when creating your ZanpakutÅ. It's alright to get creative if you're smart about it. As example; Say you want something thematic with fire and ice. You'll have to get creative about it; create something new such as Frostfire perhaps. A merge between the elements where you have thought out its mechanics in an acceptable manner. But that's just that then, Frostfire - Not the power of both Fire and Ice. Avoid using multiple ZanpakutÅ's. You are only given one at the academy and it takes an immense amount of time for your soul resonance to bond with just one sword alone, imagine the lifetime of managing two. The few that are twin swords are so in their released Shikai state, not two different bodies. Do not use something as stupid as eye techniques, seriously, this is not Naruto. Nor is your ZanpakutÅ capable of altering your biogenetics. Avoid transmorphing abilities, like I just stated, your ZanpakutÅ isn't capable of altering your biogenetics. I.E; Don't magically turn into a random dragon, phoenix or whatever mythological creature or creation you can come up with; instead, have your sword transform into such things in a Bankai state. If you want something altering still, at least try and make sense out of it like Toshiro in the canon. He doesn't alter his biogenetics when gaining the wings and claw abilities, you want things like that, make sense with your add-ons through your ZanpakutÅ's ability. These are weapons first and foremost, not Harry Potter wands, keep that in mind. If you're going to borrow a power set from somewhere that isn't Bleach related at least try and make sense and alter it to fit with our universe. It makes very little sense seeing people run around with Susanoo's and Geass or Avatar bending when Shinigami's utilize either KidÅ or their ZanpakutÅ to pull off supernatural feats in battle. Avoid having some senseless bullshit of being able to create new dimensions or wormholes. Only bad people with no shame resolve to that kind of crap. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ KidÅ KidÅ (鬼é“, Demon/Spirit Way; Viz "Soul Reaper's powers"/"Spells"; sometimes translated as "Demon Arts") is a form of Shinigami combat based on advanced spells. These spells are produced with strong Reiryoku and fall into two categories: HadÅ for direct attacks, and BakudÅ for battle support. It is one of the techniques in the Zankensoki, the group of Shinigami primary combat skills. KidÅ spells are triggered by an incantation. Experienced users can trigger them without an incantation, though the effectiveness of the spell will be diminished. The KidÅ Corps is a branch of Soul Society's military which excels in the mastery of KidÅ. Most spells are graded on a scale from 1 to 99, spells of the latter being the most powerful and the most difficult to perform. To use KidÅ, a Shinigami must recite the specific incantation for the spell, which is often long and requires a few seconds to speak. The power of a spell relies on the power of the user, as even a low-level spell can be utterly devastating when utilized by a high-class Shinigami. - There are three main types of KidÅ: binding spells, destruction spells, and healing spells. BakudÅ (縛é“, Way of Binding): Supplementary spells which can immobilize an enemy or have an effect besides a direct strike. They may seem subtle, but these spells can give their users a tactical advantage when used properly. These are a broad category of defensive spells which block/repel attacks or freezes enemies in place. This class of spells include KidÅ Barriers & Seals. List of spells: HadÅ (ç ´é“, Way of Destruction): Offensive spells which inflict direct damage to the enemy. Their effectiveness differs depending on the user. It is said the effectiveness of the higher-ranked spells are beyond imagination. List of spells: KaidÅ (回é“, Turn Way): Also known as healing KidÅ (治療用鬼é“, chiryÅyÅ kidÅ). These spells do not have known names, numbers, or incantations to cast, and simply heal the target. As the user holds his/her hands above the patient's wounds, his/her palms glow with green spiritual energy to facilitate healing. When one heals with regular healing kidÅ, they perform Reiatsu restoration first. By doing so, one can attempt to recover the physical body using the patient's restored Reiatsu and the healer's external Reiatsu. Therefore, restoring the Reiatsu when the physical body is in a fully healed state is no trouble at all. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Soul Society Soul Society (尸魂界 (ソウル・ソサエティ), Souru Sosaeti; Japanese for "Dead Spirit World") is an afterlife (also called the spirit world). This is also where Shinigami live and where most Souls dwell until they are reincarnated into the Human World. Soul Society consists of the Rukongai (æµé‚è¡—, Wandering Soul City; Viz "Rukon District"), where souls live when they arrive in Soul Society, and Seireitei (瀞霊廷, Court of Pure Souls), which is at the center of Soul Society. The mode of life here closely resembles that of feudal Japan. The Human World and Soul Society are parallel to each other and are two sides of the same coin. Families separated by death are rarely reunited in the Soul Society unless they arrive in Soul Society together. People live nestled together like a family of strangers. One never gets hungry (if she or he doesn't have spiritual powers) and aging is slowed to a great extent, with lifespans of 2000 or more years not being unheard of, though such ages are limited to Shinigami or other Soul Society dwellers with high spiritual power. Children can be born as they are in the Human World. People can also be killed as regular Humans are, though they are capable of surviving wounds that would normally be considered fatal. A soul that dies in Soul Society is reincarnated on Earth as a new Human with no past memories. - Rukongai (æµé‚è¡—, Wandering Soul City; "Rukon District") is the largest portion of Soul Society and the most populated. Rukongai is divided into 320 districts (80 in North Rukongai, 80 in West Rukongai, 80 in South Rukongai, 80 in East Rukongai), each numbered in descending order on how far they are from the center; this results in the higher-numbered (and farther) districts decaying into slums. Thus, while District 1 is peaceful and lawful, much like the antiseptic lifestyle of early-Edo Era Kyoto, District 80 is a hardscrabble, violent, crime-infested area that more depicts Heian era Kyoto. The duties of the Gotei 13 Divisions include defending allocated districts of Rukongai. However, which Division is responsible for which district has not been stated. The living standards in Rukongai decline sharply beyond the fiftieth district, with an increase in people wearing rags and no footwear. According to statistics from the last 550 years, no Rukongai resident wears sandals beyond District 59. Rukongai is full of families that are not related by blood. People die at different times and places, and it is rare for a person to find their real family in the vast Rukongai. When a soul arrives in Soul Society, they are given a ticket according to the time they died and are sent off in different directions. Even if two people were to die together, if they do not receive tickets at the same time, they will not know where the other is. When the balance of souls between the Human World and Soul Society is endangered, the Shinigami can request permission to kill citizens in Rukongai in order to restore the balance of souls between the two worlds. - Seireitei (瀞霊廷, Court of Pure Souls) is in the center of Soul Society. Seireitei is a circular shiro with four main entrances, ten days walk apart, each guarded by one of the Gatekeepers. These gates are collectively called the Four Great Pure Soul Gates (四大瀞霊門, Shidai Seireimon): these gates are made up of the Northern Black Ridge Gate (黒隆門, KokuryÅmon), the Eastern Blue Stream Gate (é’æµé–€, ShÅryÅ«mon), the Southern Red Hollow Gate (朱洼門, Shuwaimon), and the Western White Way Gate (白é“é–€, HakutÅmon). The gates are so heavy that they're nearly indestructible. There are, however, doors within the gates. The walls of Seireitei are made of Sekkiseki (殺気石, Spirit Reducing Stone), a rare type of stone known to negate all Reiryoku, similar to magnetic lodestones. The stone also forms a spherical barrier around the city, extending above and below, stopping anything spiritual from breaching it from ground level, from the sky or from underground. The wall that surrounds the Seireitei is commonly held up, only closing down when there is an emergency. When it is not down protecting the Seireitei, the wall protects the Soul King Palace, located in an inner dimension. Information about the Seireitei is confidential. What is known is that in the center of the Seireitei is a white tower known as the SenzaikyÅ«, where criminals are imprisoned; on the hill adjacent to it is the SÅkyoku, where prisoners are executed. Those permitted to live in the tranquility of the Seireitei are Shinigami and the Noble Houses. Shinigami live in the Division barracks, while high-ranking officers commute from their own homes. The majority of the residents of Seireitei, nobility and Shinigami alike, do not interact with the citizens of Rukongai. However, residents of Rukongai are allowed to apply for the Shin'Å Academy, which is often the only escape from the poorest conditions of Rukongai. - The Law's of Soul Society The ultimate law is to maintain balance. It is against the law for a Shinigami to give their spiritual power to Humans. It is against the law for a Shinigami to use forbidden KidÅ. It is against the law for any citizen of Soul Society to create weapons of a dangerous nature not sanctioned by the feudal government. To do so is treason. It is against the law to attack a captain. To do so is treason. It is against the law to commit terrorist action(s) or attempt to overthrow the balance of Soul Society. To do so is treason. It is against the law to commit murder. It is against the law to kill a Human that a Shinigami has not been ordered to kill. It is forbidden for a Shinigami to acquire or attempt to gain Hollow-like powers. It is a crime for a Shinigami to remain in the Human World longer than a certain time limit. It is against the law for the Gotei 13 to meddle in the affairs of the noble families unless the family in question breaks one of the laws of Soul Society beyond a shadow of a doubt. It is forbidden for a Shinigami to intervene in anything that is related to Hell. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ ShihÅin Kuchiki The Noble Houses of Sereitei Shiba KyÅraku The Four Noble Families carry the most weight and appear to have some influence over the governmental institutions (i.e. Central 46 Chambers) and even institutions outside of the government (i.e. Shin'Å Academy). The military (i.e. Gotei 13, KidÅ Corps & OnmitsukidÅ) have no authority to act against a noble family without evidence that their actions are treasonous to Soul Society. The four official houses of the Unofficial Roleplay are; The ShihÅin, The Kuchiki, The KyÅraku and The Shiba. All houses possess a slight bonus to their members. ShihÅin: Advanced Hakuda training available and higher potential to be able to learn ShunkÅ. The ability to shapeshift into one selected animal. Kuchiki: Advanced HohÅ(Shunpo) training available and higher potential to be able to learn Utsusemi. Kyoraku: Advanced Zanjutsu training available and higher chance to have a twin release ZanpakutÅ. Has the ability to pass down their swords to family members. Shiba: Advanced Kido training available and higher capacity for learning custom kidÅ. Can utilize Sand Magic. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Gotei 13 The Gotei 13 (è·å»·å三隊, GoteijÅ«santai; 13 Division Imperial Guards. It is the primary military branch of Soul Society and the main military organization most Shinigami join after leaving the academy. The Gotei 13 is made up of thirteen divisions, with several divisions having certain specializations. As with any army, the Gotei 13 has ranks. There are 20 ranks for officers, but no ranks for non-officers. The lower the number is, the higher the rank. The ranks and their descriptions are below, from highest to lowest in terms of strength. The Gotei 13 is an organization with a merit-based hierarchy. It has disposed of the system of rank based on seniority. Abilities are the only thing used to determine one's rank. - The Gotei 13 serves as a military force with its primary responsibilities consisting of: The defense of the Seireitei, the center of Soul Society. The deployment of Division members into enemy territory for combat operations. The deployment of Task Forces as defensive measures in the Human World. The guiding of souls to Soul Society. - The Captains of Gotei 13 1st Division Hiko Shogekiha 2nd Division Hakumei Kuchiki 3rd Division Laaniie 4th Division Aliza Phoenix 5th Division - 6th Division - 7th Division Aiden Hunter 8th Division Shiro ShihÅin 9th Division Emmell Shidow 10th Division - 11th Division Anson Shiba 12th Division - 13th Division YoshirÅ KyÅraku KidÅ Corps Metabee _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Royal Guards The Royal Guard (王属特務, ÅŒzokutokumu; translated as "Royal Special Task Force") also known as the Zero Division (零番隊, Zerobantai), is an organization that is dedicated to the protection of the Soul King, the Royal Family, and the Soul King Palace. The Royal Guard is a special organization that performs services for the Royal Family. It has a considerable amount of fighting, organizational, and executive power compared to other organizations. They are also charged with slaying Menos, though the circumstances under which they do so are unknown. Since serving the royal family is the primary purpose of the Royal Guard, they do not interfere in Gotei 13's affairs and the defense of Soul Society. They are known to do whatever is required by order of the Soul King. The Royal Guard's authority supersedes the authority of all within Soul Society. Each member of the Royal Guard have had the power of the ÅŒken imparted onto their bones by the Soul King. They also each have a city of their own at the Soul King Palace. All the members of the Royal Guard were Shinigami acknowledged by the Soul King to have made significant contributions to the history of Soul Society. - The Royal Guard serves as guardians with the primary responsibilities of: Protecting the Soul King. Protecting the Royal Family. Protecting the Royal Palace. Slaying Menos class Hollows. - Division Zero Thunder Deity Ruroki ShihÅin _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Character Application The second main objective of this thread is to collect all applications into one place for everyone's convenience. No matter what your affiliation, loyalty or purpose is - If you are a Shinigami, or even a Spirit this is where you'll drop the Applications. I will place a template in a spoiler below that I've created myself, seeing as a few have already used it feel free to utilize it as well. You are not obligated of course to use the same template, you can create your own. As long as it fulfills the purpose. To those that have already made applications I suggest you copy them over here. Yet again, you're not obligated to do so but it would be convenient to have everything - even the old things in one place. Don't make me re-do it..
  2. Ah, the academy. What a place full of joy, wonder, and excitement. A place where young minds are shaped, and young bodies molded, into our future protectors and leaders. Here, friendships are forged and healthy rivalries flourish, and above all, knowledge is bestowed upon our joyous young students. Our young hero... wait. Scratch that. Hmmm... Our young protagonist, Toshiki Kyōraku, starts his wondrous journey of knowledge and self discovery here at the academy. What fun, exciting, and possibly dangerous adventures lie in store for our young Kyōraku? Let's find out shall we! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ After what had felt like a lifetime, it was finally the day of young Toshiki Kyōraku's final Hakuda test, marking the end to his private zankensoki training in the underground training area in the Kyōraku mansion. In his room in the mansion, Toshiki lay asleep in his bed, dreaming. In his dream he stood atop the tallest point of the Kyōraku mansion, looking out across the yard, past the cherry blossom trees and the moat at the surrounding landscape. He wore standard shinigami waraji, or sandals, and a black hakama. His chest was bare, and the only things he wore on the top half of his body were a sleeveless captain's haiori and a sugegasa, similar to the hat Shunsui Kyōraku wore, atop his head. In the distance a figure could be seen moving towards the mansion at an alarming pace, but Toshiki just stood there, arms crossed, his haiori blowing in the wind dramatically. As the figure got closer, it went from being a small blob in the distance to having some form to it. It was clearly some form of humanoid, tall and slim, using some sort of Shunpo like ability to move towards the mansion. When the figure was close enough to make out details, it was evident that this was no Shinigami, or even Arrancar, approaching the mansion. The white, high collared, form fitting tunic. The cross dangling on a chain from the figures left wrist, and the five pointed cross pendant hanging around the figures neck. It was evident that this figure was a quincy. Flashbacks of the stories of the destruction of the old mansion at the hands of the quincies, told to him by his mentor, flashed through Toshiki's mind as he watched the figures approach. The figure stopped roughly twenty feet from the moat surrounding the mansion and looked up towards Toshiki. The quincy's eyes squinted slightly, a look of disgust on his face, and held up his left hand. From the cross at his wrist a large bow made of reishi formed, which he aimed in Toshiki's direction. With his right hand, he pulled back an invisible bowstring, forming a large reishi arrow. Toshiki moved his left hand to his waist where his zanpakuto hung at his hip. He gripped the hilt of his blade and slowly slid it out of its sheath. The metal of the blade shone in the sunlight, and the sound of the blade sliding out of its sheath could be heard all across the grounds of the mansion. Toshiki, who hadn't taken his eyes off of the quincy below yet, could see the attackers lips move, as if he was saying something. 'His last words, no doubt,' thought Toshiki as he held his blade out in front of him. Then the quincy let the arrow fly, straight towards Toshiki. A smirk crossed Toshiki's face as he ran his right hand along the backside of his blade. Then he moved his lips, but no sound came out, as he called the release command for his Zanpakuto. An explosion of reiatsu caused the roofing around him to start floating a few inches off the roof. Before Toshiki could witness the release of his Zanpakuto, he was jolted awake by a sudden increase in weight pushing down on his sleeping figure, and a sudden loss of breath from the impact of someone's body slamming into his. His eyes shot open, and he looked at the figure that had woken him from his interesting dream he was having. "Wake up, sleepy head!" It was a young girl, probably around nine or ten years old, with auburn hair and big green eyes. "Mama's waiting for you downstairs! Wakey wakey!" She began to gently shake Toshiki, who in return groaned and replied in a groggy voice, "ugh, I'm up, Mai, I'm up. What time is it?" He gently pushed Mai, the young girl, off of him, and she dramatically landed on her back on the bed beside him, giggling and flailing, "It's almost twelve! Mama's been waiting for hours~!" He shot up out of his bed, hearing the time. "Ah, crap! I was supposed to meet Sameko in the training room at nine! Why didn't you wake me up sooner!" He hurriedly grabbed his training uniform from the pile he had left it in on the floor the night before and went into the bathroom in his room to change into it and quickly brush his teeth. Mai called after him, now jumping on his bed, "mama said you looked like you were having a good dream, so she wanted to let you sleep! But I got bored and wanted to watch you play with mama!" Toshiki came out of the bathroom, toothbrush in his mouth and putting his second arm through the armhole on his shirt, and looked over towards Mai. "I wish you'd gotten bored sooner! And stop jumping on the bed, you know Sameko would be mad if she found out." Mai laughed as she jumped off the bed and landed mid air, "you and mama need to stop worrying so much! I can already control my reiatsu enough to do this!" She concentrated for a second, and just as she was about to demonstrate the slow Shunpo she had learned to do Toshiki grabbed her arm and gently pulled her down to the ground, "please, don't. I'm not trying to get into even more trouble with Sameko. I'm already late for my last day of training, after all. Come on, lets stop by the kitchen. I'll let you have ice cream, so long as you don't tell your mother about it." Her face lit up at the word ice cream, and she made a motion with her free hand as if she were zippering her mouth shut, "Yay, ice cream! I promise I won't tell!" Toshiki smiled at Mai and nodded at the door, "wait for me in the hall a sec, I gotta finish getting ready." Mai smiled back and nodded, "okay! But hurry! I want ice cream!" she laughed as she shunpoed to the door and turned around, sticking her tongue out at Toshiki before going out the door to wait in the hallway. Toshiki quickly finished brushing his teeth, tied his hakama hiko, and then joined Mai in the hallway. Together the two went down to the kitchen, stopping to eat some ice cream as Toshiki had promised, and then proceeded down to the training area. When they arrived at the training area, they found Sameko chatting with a woman wearing the uniform of the Onmitsukidō. "Is that so?" She raised her eyebrows, "thank you, Mira." Sameko smiled at the other person, who waved her hand in response. "No need to thank me, Same-chan. I was off duty, so I don't mind helping an old friend. Anyways I should get back, I can't stay off duty forever after all." she chuckled and then vanished in a flash of Shunpo. Then Sameko folded her arms, and before turning to face Toshiki and Mai, called out to them, "so, you stopped at the kitchen on your way down, eh?" She then smiled somewhat menacingly at the two, cracking her knuckles, "is that.. chocolate ice cream stains on your face, Mai?" Mai and Toshiki looked at each other wide-eyed, and Mai quickly wiped her mouth clean, "uh, uhm.. no, mama!" Her voice squeaked a bit. Toshiki then chuckled lightly, "I see there's no hiding it from you, Sameko. We.. might have stopped for some ice cream.. but hey! We only had a little bit!" As he was talking, Sameko disappeared and reappeared behind Toshiki, gently punching the back of his head, talking in a soft, scolding tone "you know Mai can't have ice cream this early in the day. And on the day you were late to your training?" Toshiki looked down at the ground, scratching the back of his head, "hey, I'm sorry oka.." He was interrupted mid apology by the sound of Sameko laughing. "I can't believe its your last day of your training. It seems like it as only yesterday that I foundyou and took you in back in Rukon. Now, lets get to that final test." She motioned for Toshiki to move to his starting point across from where she would stand. Mai ran off to the side, a glint in her eyes at the thought of getting to watch them train. "Now, in order to pass this one, all you have to do is land one hit on me. Easy enough, no?" Truth be told, Toshiki hadn't, in all of his Hakuda training, landed a single strike on Sameko. "Heh, easier said than done, I think." He retorted as he shunpoed in close, swinging his left leg at Sameko's side. Without even flinching, Sameko took a step back and to the left, just barely avoiding Toshiki's kick. His kick left him open, and she clenched her hand into a fist and brought it down on Toshiki's side. Just before she made contact, however, Toshiki swung his left leg back around so he could narrowly avoid getting hit, and he brought his right knee up towards her midsection. They continued on like this, dodging and counterattacking, for several minutes. Toshiki stood back for a second after a particularly fast paced encounter, trying to catch his breath. "It's really not as easy as you tried to make it sound, Sameko! You're definitely not going easy on me anymore." Sameko smirked at him, "of course I'm not going as easy on you as usual, this is your final test with me after all. She then quickly lunged at Toshiki, her hand open but tight together, as if she were trying to stab him with her hand. Toshiki closed his eyes, letting her jab her hand into his stomach. Just before impact he flexed his abs to lessen the damage received from the strike, and grabbed her wrist, striking Sameko with a similar jab of his own. They stood there silently for a moment, Toshiki grinning widely. Then Sameko grinned happily and gently punched Toshiki's head, "guess you passed, eh kid? Congrats!" Mai ran out and hugged Toshiki, laughing happily, "yay! yay! yay! you did it!" Toshiki picked her up and hugged her back, "What, you didn't think I could do it? You wound me!" They both laughed, and he put her down. Sameko then picked her daughter up and smiled at her, "guess we should celebrate, huh? How about a little more ice cream?" She winked at her daughter, who chuckled. "Yay! Ice cream!" The three went up to the kitchen and celebrated with a few of the other staff members. The next day, Sameko woke Toshiki up early, throwing a new uniform over his face. "Wakey, wakey, kid. Time to head out." Toshiki sat up, struggling to pull the uniform off his face. "Huh? What? I thought I was done training, why do I have to get up so early?" he yawned, looking over at Sameko. Her arms were crossed and she smirked at him, "because! I said so! But seriously, go put that uniform and get yourself ready, today you start at the Shinigami Academy." Toshiki looked down at the uniform, examining it for the first time. It was the standard uniform worn by male academy students. He looked back at Sameko, slightly puzzled. "Huh? I only just graduated from your training, though?" Sameko laughed, "yes, yes. You got lucky and passed my training. So it was decided that now you should go to the academy, maybe make some friends and enjoy your youth!" Reluctantly, Toshiki got ready after that, putting on the uniform. Then Sameko threw him a sheathed Zanpakuto, "here, this is yours now." Toshiki clumsily caught it, almost dropping it, then strapped it to his waist. He then examined it more closely, and a puzzled expression crossed his face. "But, wait.. isn't this.. your Zanpakuto, Sameko?" She just turned and walked towards his door, "come, we need to hurry. Don't want to be late for your first day." Sameko then escorted Toshiki to the academy, and they stopped in front of the school. She turned to him, looking at him in his uniform with her Zanpakuto at his side. A tear formed in the side of her eye, and she threw her arms tightly around him. "Oh, you've grown up so fast. I can't believe you're already going to the academy." Toshiki hugged Sameko back, "I'll be fine, ma. You raised me well." He smiled. She pulled away and turned away, looking towards the sky. "Hmph, hurry or you'll be late." Toshiki couldn't see her face, but she had a few happy tears streaming down her face and she was smiling. She really was proud of him, and hearing him call her ma made her happy. Toshiki then waved bye and walked up to the door of the Academy, stopping in front and looking up at the building. "Today marks the start of my school time adventure! I wonder what it'll be like!" ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ooc> hope its not too bad xD I haven't slept in like 24 hours but felt like writing this instead of sleeping! 3. The morning was fresh in Rukongai, everyone was waking up and strolling the streets, buying goods, foods, clothes Daichi opened the door too his home and looked outside at the market "Ah nice to see people strolling around so much.I think ill take a stroll around the market today" he thought to himself.Daichi then went back inside put on his robes and blue sash, his sword and of course his SPS goggles (Spiritual Pressure Sensing) he opened his door walked outside to the market. He stopped, looked up and toke a long nice breathe. He then walked into the market and saw many things like fruit, nice robes, jewelry and swords he walked a little further into the market and someone suddenly yelled "Help! some one help!" Daichi looked around at the activity every one was looking in the same direction. He followed the crowds eye's until he saw a man running with what seemed to be a bag.He shunpoed in front of the man and said to him "Drop the bag now please if you dont i will be forced to take action!" the man simply responded "Try it".Daichi drawled his sword but just before he even unsheathed it he suddenly shunpoed away.At this moment Daichi stopped and was slightly surprised "Could this be a shinigami?" he thought,Daichi had no time for wondering he continued to draw his sword and shunpoed on top of a roof and said to himself "He could not have gone far" he then reached for his goggles he had on his fore head and lowered them to his eyes. The systems of the goggles activated and he started to look around the area.At first he saw nothing then he spotted a signature running away.He quickly reached for his glasses and positioned them to his fore head again, then he shunpoed 13 feet behind the man while he was running. Before the man got any further Daichi raised his left arm that was free from the sword and said "Bakudō #9. Hōrin" he effortlessly created with his index and middle fingers a yellow ball. Then he released the Reaitsu and a long rope like yellow spirit energy came at the unknown man with speed and force. The man quickly and unexpectedly turned around and shunpoed behind him,Daichi could see right through his flash step and discharged the kido quickly as when it hit would make a big explosion. Then he turned around right where the man would shunpo and take his sword and with a quick thrust jab the tip of his zanpakuto right into his stomach with enough force to bring him down. The man waited for his sword to be extended and quickly jumped up with his feet on the tip of Daichi's sword, then he jump once again and use his left leg to kick Daichi in the face.Daichi unexpectedly was kicked in the face, the man floated down to the ground and proceeded to do a leg sweep trying to make Daichi lose balance. But saw through this rather quickly and shunpoed 10 feet away and said "Dam you just will not give up huh?" then he got into a serious stance with a face of anger "Enough of this,Bakudō #61. Rikujōkōrō" Daichi suddenly points his index finger at the man.A yellow spark appears at this finger and quickly yellow beams of light smash into him restricting him of all movement, then Daichi follows it up by flash stepping 10 feet away from him and says "Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!,Hadō #63. Raikōhō" all while saying this his hand is raise to the man and a giant yellow energy forms at his palm follow by some yellow lightning around it.He waits a bit before releasing it holding it in as much as possible so he can say "Any lasts....w-Words?" the man just reply's "s-s-Screw y-You Bastard" Daichi grows a frown on his face and releases the Spirit energy at blast of complete fiery energy comes at him with intense power and speed, the beams of lights, his body, the bag and much of the ground around him was completely destroyed there was some smoke in the area.Daichi said to himself out loud "Phew...what a day im going back home and hopefully train in the morning maybe bathe in the sun or something...im so sick of this" he took in a deep breathe in and out. Then he walked back home and toke off all his gear and weapons and went to sleep and waited for another day.

  5. Koizumi Ren had learned months ago that she would be taking part in an academy exercise alongside many other shinigami as chaperons watching over a team of academy students as they performed a practice mission. The way that the letter she had received outlined the specifics of how this mission would work was as follows: Pairs of shinigami from among each of the 13 court guard squads are to take teams of three academy students of varying levels of experience on an outing to the world of the living in order to give them field experience in tracking down and eliminating very weak hollows without doing anything that would be visible to the living. Ren remembered that she too once had a similar training exercise, as they were not uncommon and helpful in giving students an idea of what their daily job might be like. To her it was a bit uncomfortable being watched by actual shinigami that she didn't know, but it ended up being like a fun field trip just chasing around small hollows and cleansing them. Though the young Ren also felt it as a bit of an odd experience; even in what she had thought to be a few years since she'd died, so much about the world had changed. The feeling of seeing for herself how the world moves on was one of a little bit of sadness and regret; though she had to get over that quickly, as there's nothing that can be done about it. The weather that day was as it was today, a sunny and mild summer climate. Telling her Captain about the letter the day that she received it, Ren was given today off to go and take part in this exercise. The young shinigami was nervous and she approached the academy; young students walked all around in their uniforms, talking among one another. She hadn't been a shinigami for a terribly long time and wasn't sure of how she'd do being in charge of students. She worried that they'd be too much for her to handle and she'd be bad at it, or that she'd let her partner do so much that she seemed like she wasn't doing enough. Still in sort of a daydreaming haze, she finally reached the doors to the building where she'd need to go look at the posted charts to see who she'd be with in this exercise. ooc: you guys can start out wherever, if you want to already be looking at the charts or meeting up somewhere or maybe you're even later behind Ren. 7. The location is an area between the Squad 9 and Squad 8 barracks. A place full of shops and consumer buildings. The shadows begin to act up as bit by bit of this area is layered over with shadow. All but the people are covered in shadow and much to the horror of the shinigami there the buildings, streets, and general area is completely black. After a few minutes the shadows begin to move revealing the structures of English architecture. They know all to well from what happened in the last invasion. They knew it is the Wandenreich. "Let the show commence then...." He sat down on a throne with the letter A inscribed on it waiting for his prey to come to him. He rested his arms on the arms of his throne with his pistol fully formed and his finger against the trigger. In his right hand he held an ace card he tapped against the side of his throne building up its energy. He was a little impatient and a little curious at who would come to face him in a one on one match. He was covered head to toe in silver armor. He wore a helmet that obscured his face and gave him the power to detect the presence of another spiritual being along with over 20 different type of vision. Under his Stern Ritter cloak he held a variety of world of the living weapons enhanced by the power of a Fullbring that could harm a spiritual being. The Major himself was not made out of reshi as he was a human and therefore still maintained a non spiritual form. His soul burned with the passion to wage war. Now was the time to prove it to his men. OOC: NOTE DEPENDING ON HOW BUSY I'M WITH SCHOOL POSTING MAY BE SLOW SO BE PREPARED TO WAIT FOR A FEW DAYS IF YOU WISH TO ENTER. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Setting: A miniature replica of Silbern the Grand Palace of the Wandenreich. It looks exactly like it except it is just one open giant room. There are no rooms inside it. It's basically a court yard with a giant roof over it. A little bit of the surrounding area had been "Wanden-ized" as well creating a foreign atmosphere to a shinigami. Equipment:*note all weapons here are from the World of the Living and not made out of Reshi. They were enhanced by a fullbringer manipulating the souls within all the objects making them able to injure or kill a spiritual being like any other spiritual weapon. Reshi Cards "Karte" Spirit Bows Spirit Weapon: small decorated silver reshi pistol 00. "The Arbitrator", peacemaker XXA-08. Has the Vandenreich emblem inscribed on the side of the handle. *IN USE ATM* My smaller side arm the -01. "The Aberration", peacemaker XXA-01 Abilities Used: A The Absolution or forgiveness. Such as the stem of all Quincy linage he has the power to dismantle all reshi attacks used against him to prevent betrayals from the order. He simply replaces all spirit energy intertwined with the reshi with his own spirit energy thrust coating all reshi based attacks with his own Spiritual Energy.
  8. 1) Vandenreich has claim to all Squads and services affiliated. List of Squads Agreed upon during the chat, allocated to the Vaden This is in renegotiation. [Personally, I'd like to just allow the Vaden into the Soul Society, with equal say in command, and opportunity for captaincy. Stern Ritter being treated as such, as their positions warrant respect] 2) The Gotei 13 and Vandenreich herby pledge to aid each other against any enemy that seeks to harm the wellbeing of either side's citizens. 3)Vandenreich has free access to the Gotei 13's squads and property for fair use or casual hangouts. Basically both sides are like 2 different states, in which they both can live in either state and obtain necessary permits to become citizens of either and be entitled to full member benefits either side allows. 4) Any future squad creations are to herby split between Vandenreich and Gotei 13 jurisdiction. 5) No member tied with the Vandenreich or Gotei 13 shall attack either side without provocation and must be done so in self defense. Any side with the offender is to be tried and locked away in Muken the 8th Underground Prison for a determined number of years chosen by a council of their peers. If such an act of Violence were to occur it is not to be turned into a conflict between the Vandenreich and the Gotei 13 unless each side's council of Captains or Stern Ritter declare war. 6)Both sides should be limited to 6 squads each, however there are 13 so one squad should be split between Vandenreich and Gotei 13 control. You are welcome to choose in a timely manner of which squad to split control on your set of squads as we so far only have 6 for Vandenreich. Recently decided in chat Squad 5 shall herby be split in the control of Vandenreich and the Gotei 13. [up for debate, as the first rule is in question.] 7) The Rukon districts are under the shared jurisdiction of Vaden and Gotei 13. The districts are not distributed as claim is equal. The same remains the same for the WotL, in areas that are of our control to begin with.
