Egriffiend's Night of Wailing [Event Arc]

The trio continued onward for but a moment, and Hitsuyona saw a response of remorse from his comrade as the cloak would once again cover his torso. Before enough time had passed for the Captain to give a response however, there was a blaring of criest in the distance, which followed with sudden spiking and vanishing of their reiatsu. The Vizard would soon find his senses overwhelmed in their entirety all once; begrudging so, as the stench of foul rotting flesh, and sounds of a narrowing herd fixated on the center of the trios current location. The only distinct presence Hitsuyona could at this moment pinpoint were his own groups and an unknown number of assailants. Before Hitsuyona would have the time or need to prepare a counterattack, it appears that the Captain and accompanying Vice had taken extreme and swift countermeasures of their very own. Hitsuyona stood witness as the horde came a sudden halt in such a hasteful fashion that he had barely been able to follow its movements. The rods had been of many, and all of black, as Hitsuyona merely stood in curiosity upon this point. He looked back to Oriru for a fleeting to moment to observe the follow-up that was surely to come. He took mental note of what appeared to be Oriru's main ability of this rather peculiar Shikai. He watched as their odd connection would suddenly be struck lit with viscous quantities of electricity. The bright flash of electrical surges quickly fades as so did the threat in this moment, and Hitsuyona's grip upon the hilt of his blade would lightly lift. "I wouldn't know, didn't lift a finger." His previous remark was made sly with a rather sarcastic undertone lying beneath his words. No sooner than he had closed his mouth would his eyes suddenly beam wide open in either awe or fear of that instantaneous arrival of an imminent threat. A barrier of sorts in the form of a Vortex had surrounded the Shinigami, only to bring the further danger of a zombie horde being drawn to the same vortex of sorts from the outside of their whereabouts. What had once been the smell of rotting flesh would suddenly exfoliate and multiply with great intensity, which, cause an immediate gagging reflex of one Hitsuyona as he watch the mangled bodies ebb and bow within one another surrounding them. In that fleeting moment a outside force would grab him from behind without warning, lifting his body effortlessly towards the spiraling vortex that he so recently found himself wishing so furiously to avoid. Hitsuyona's weapon nearly effortlessly tranported within his grasps as to swiftly sever the many appendages that adorned him, before his body itself slipped from the cloak; however, it would have been far to little to late. His arms and legs would again be gripped before he'd the chance to fight loose from the unending assault of the unlivings grasps. With each swing of the blade would a new barrage of limbs flail upon his body, and so did his efforts end in vain. The spiraling mist begins to feed on the very essence of Hitsuyona's being, and much like the others did his wail accompany their counterpart. It felt as though his extremities became thread and begun to slowly unravel whilst causing an immense pain similar to his very soul being parted from his body. This feeling was actually unfortunately not foreign to his memory, and would immediately trigger an immense panic and traumatic stress response that sent his animal instincts into overdrive. His body quickly turned to face the sky before a billowing white expunges from every crack and crevice upon his face, and forms a full mask upon his face. A large harrowing howl leaves the mouth of Hitsuyona as a light teal fog escapes his lips, and his eyes glow a bright teal. Several bolts of electricity shoot forth from his body striking the grasps of the undead, and begins turning everying directly surrounding his body to ashes. An electrical field would then form around the body of the hollowfied Shinigami as a form of protective cocoon, as the missing fragments of his entirety would magnetically pull towards one another to re-bond. Amidst these actions occuring Oriru's defensive, yet offensive in nature maneuvers began to take place. The reverse cyclone that would soon be empowered by eletrical surgest began to counteract the vortex as the cocoon surrounding Hitsuyona's body begins to illuminate brightly. Whenever his body became encompassed by the electrical energy his cocoon bursts and sends his body spiraling out of control. A loud thundering boom soon echoes and surrounds the area in a white surge of lightning that attracts itself into the being of Hitsuyona, before his body turns upright to allow for a graceful landing. His body begins to glow is if a pure source of lightning for a moment, as it begins to soak into the humanoid form which now his its hands outstretched. Three blades would shoot forth from the vortex into the hands of Hitsuyona who would now quickly kneel to bring their hilts pummeling into the ground beneath him. A large wave of electricity shoots forth in all directions of his body as a pillar of light shoots directly upwards, causing a relentless booming echoe and instantly evaporating anything with several meters of his whereabouts. The two blades within his grips were the Tanto that originally belonged to Genshi, and to its opposite were a pair of Wakizashi both belonging to Hitsuyona and his former partner Nyu. The original weapon of his own would then form of a bright white light upon the side of his persons before he lifts his headly lightly to make eye contact with Oriru. The Captain had since began to make his way from the Vortex carving a path for the duo to escape. Hitsuyona's body would begin to fade effortlessly from its current location, leaving only an eletrical after image that quickly blows from existence with the wind. He materializes once more by Oriru allowing some of the white lightning swirling around his body to 'attract' itself around Oriru almost as if an aura magnetically attached to his very skin. Hitsuyona would then hold his former Zanpaktou Tekkei Kage into the air, followed by a swirling presence of mist and lightning alike all collectively spiraling down from above into the tip of the blade. As the newfound spiraling vortex appeared above the vizard his overhead storm began to dissipate as a result, before ultimately ceasing to exist. "Smite." For a split second the wind in the surrounding area halts, and a fleeting moment of silence occurs. Immediately following, is a large flashing light causing an immense explosion of spiritual pressure from Hitsuyona's exact location that levels the area around his person. He'd grown impatient of the relentless horde that endless assimilated, and did so in an attempt to delete them from existence. It was also retroactively a result of receiving so much sudden power that he had become 'overcharged', and needed to immediately alleviate his immense spiritual pressure as if to not harm his current form. From Ashes to Dust

Many gather to watch as the crowd grows endlessly in numbers upon the hill so seldom to be used. People numbered in the hundreds on this dreary day, clouds gathering in the sky as if to only let a shimmer of light to fall upon the peak of the hill of which they stand. Gusts of relentless wind blows many a robe as they stand unified at attention, awaiting the initiation of an event since thought to be urban legend. Silence befalls them all while the sheer whistling of the wind protrudes intensely. Within the Epicenter of the many stands a wooden pillar that dons the binding of a figure who had since been deemed of the most worthy to such a fate to soon become. His head lay motionless facing the ground below bound by both spell and thread alike; likewise, his body bound with chains and Kido unrivaled in its capabilities to confine the wicked. Among the many would the few step forth, one of which holding parchment that had since been unraveled before he would place a singular finger to his throat. "On this day we witness the execution of one Hitsuyona Shizukesa, for the crimes of partaking in the act of Hollowification, the murdering of several members of nobility, and the attempted accumulation of a criminal organization embedded within the Seireitei. " The voice was to be heard far and wide whilst is powerful echo ringed continuously for but a moment before ceasing, only to leave a collection of whispers among those who stood eyes falling onto Hitsuyona himself; rather, what would have appeared to be the shell of his existence that clung to the bindings that had since consumed his entirety. While unable to so much as think of moving let alone speaking, the young soul could but listen to the horrendous accusations placed against himself. Laying within the confinements of his own doom he could but recall the life he'd had thus far, and but wonder why the very place he fought to defend would condemn him to such a death. He'd lived through it all so to speak, hell, he'd traveled through time and space from one reality to another. He could but recall his acts of great honor defending his own homeland from invasions, and the slaying of many a powerful foe that threatened his men; begrudgingly so however, would it all come down to the most dishonorable ends to warriors epic. His mind wanders endless in attempts to find comfort as his previously distinguished allies prepare for what they called a 'ceremony'. ----------------------------------------- Some Time Ago .. Brilliantly displayed were the sunset on such a day as it looms a light orange over the entirety of the ceremony that had taken place. Atop the podium were a collection of high ranking officials who stood diagonally to the one known as Hitsuyona Shizukesa, all donned in a white robe that such a eager Shinigami stood await in anticipation of one of his very own. The normally messy teal hair appeared to be well kept, and such a seldom occurrence accompanied by a eager smile written across his face. A green humanoid figure would step forwards from behind this eager soul to stand beside him, before acknowledging those that stood below among the crowd. His frog like appearance seemed as though it were normal to those attending, as they conjointly away for his announcement. "On this day we witness the inauguration of one Hitsuyona Shizukesa, for exceptional achievements on both the battlefield and as a leading figure within the Onmitsukido. His acceptance follows the retirement of one former leader of equal or higher achievements, and has henceforth received the recommendation of all who stand before you today. " Hitsuyona had certainly never grown used the formalities of an old friend, but turned to face him with a smile nonetheless. Such was proceeded with a number of exchanges between the two as his position be made official. ----------------------------------------- A Short Time Later .. A group of ranking officials, most specifically of the Kido Corps, had since gathered in a circle below Hitsuyona's hanging body, and begun what some may have described as a ritual. The six members would have raised their arms into the sky before reciting some form of spell whilst their hands glew intensely. Slowly did the ground shake as a halberd began to form from a pole along the dusty ground that lay beneath it. In unison their words continue as ropes slowly unravel to reveal its edged blade, and many stared intensely at the ritual as it progressed. As the ropes unraveling reached completion a large gust of wind blows in all directions from its center, and so did they fly effortlessly from the weapon that had now begun to levitated towards the doomed soul. An immense pressure begins to accumulate atop Sokyoku Hill, and its presence showed quite powerful as to bring those not worthy to their knees before it. Hitsuyona could feel the very presence of its personified murderous rage intensely focused on his very being, and it's sheer pressure brought great pain so that a muffled scream escaped his lips. The endearing soul attempted its best to distract oneself from such a catastrophe, yet found great difficulty ensuing his efforts. His efforts were indeed in vain however, as the wicked soon took hold and beneath the white mask he donned did a billowing white expunge itself from every crevice possible. A distorted howl protrudes from the seal that binds him, and so did a second gust of wind form to combat that of the sokyoku. ----------------------------------------- A light sigh escapes the Captains mouth as he slowly opens his eyes in hopes that the discouraging amount of work to be done would have simply faded away. He stares intently at the pile of paperwork laying on his desk, and merely exchanged the papers from one side to the other in hopes that some solution would suddenly present itself. It was honestly the most excruciating part of the job in his eyes, which was especially odd given a number of his past duties. He could handle the maggots nest, and he could fight mercilessly on the battlefield; yet, the endless streams of paper that piled seemingly ten feet tall had become his match. The irritated look on Hitsuyona's face remained as the sound of footsteps approach, but an idea had clicked into his mind. "Please, come in." It was sadly enough not a simple kind gesture that he had said, but a true begging of some form of escape from a treacherous night at the office again. The Shinigami stepped inside to see the welcoming face of his captain, and was quite astonished to see such on this day. Shaking the horrific sight from his mind though, the black garbed individual let a single head bow before continuing. "Sir, we've a special request from the higher ups, and they requested specifically you to see out the matter." Hitsuyona quickly turned back to a solemn posture as he leaned upwards to wave his hands after the light bow that had occurred. He was indeed intrigued as to what exactly they wanted specifically a captain for, but had every intention to do anything to get out of the office this day. "Go on." His member would have went on to debrief him on the so called 'mission', which entailed Hitsuyona to tail the very Captain Commander himself. Supposedly, the one known as Kaeru had decided to go solo on a hunt for an individual who had been causing quite the scene in the Rukongai. Hitsuyona would stand from his desk as he lightly pushed himself upwards, and allows a singular bow in return to his co-worker. It was a sign of appreciation to show that a superior was equal in his own eyes. He then gave the poor soul a sinister grin soon to follow. "I guess that would leave my paperwork to you then? I will be off the keep our commander 'safe' as they called it." His Detention Unit commander suddenly had a rather concerned look on his face, and suddenly sighed as he went to take the seat hitsuyona had once been in. Hitsuyona would then make haste to leave the room before any excuses could be made. "He never stops to take a breath does he?" ----------------------------------------- There is suddenly a vast feeling of distraught plaguing the hills of which currently the ceremony took place, as the many gaze upon the cries of agony coming from Hitsuyona. It was supposedly a mishap on the Kido Corps part, having unsuccessfully sealed Hitsuyona's speech. Flames would then begin to envelop the halberd as its tip were within inches of Hitsuyona's body, and its immense heat began to burn even those surrounding his whereabouts. "Stand Back!" The Sokyoku had apparently been more powerful than anticipated, which was likely another error that couldn't have been foreseen after so many centuries without use. Moments later a phoenix began to form from the flames as it envelops its victim, who would now suddenly have grown silent. The forsaken body began to glow a great hue of teal as spiritual pressure begins to leak seamlessly from the bindings, before bursting the confinements to reveal a complete hollowification that had since taken place. The immense white and blue figure floated above the ground as its arms reach outwards in attempts to hold back the assault. Six tendrils of lightning bursts from its back to form wings connected by eletrical currents, which then push greatly against the phoenix's beak. Without the slightest hesitation the Kido Corps Commander steps forth and immediately appears directly beneath the exchange of events. "I knew this wouldn't go according to plan ,its just like the damned vortex.." The Kido Captain would then prepare his hands as he looks upwards at the once comrade, and bears a hint of shame upon his expression. "Kin." Black thread shoots upwards in attempts to bind the duo, as iron pillars come crashing downwards. Hitsuyona would quickly crash to the ground in binding with the phoenix, before its threading merely burned to ashes. "Damnit." with one hand above the other a bright green light illuminates from the captain's hands whilst he stands between the two beast. His kimono had now been seared greatly, as burn marks begin to become prevalent upon his body. Just as he would do so, several onmitsukido would begin to attempt to rush inwards on the trio in response to the captain's actions. "Jikanteishi" Time itself would pause as the ninja clad in black pause mid-air. His burned body turns to face what had once been hitsuyona as dire face distinguishing pain lay dormant on this beast. "You're no longer the Ally I once knew, nor are you worthy of existence." His hand begins to turn black as a grey aura surrounds his body, and his left arm would raise slowly from the ground up. "Forgive me brother, as I condemn you to a fate worse than death, so that the beast within may be expunged." Two black pillars raise from the ground as it cracks beneath itself, slowly forming the very gates of hell that would creak open to cause a vortex of pressure going inwards. The trio would be sucked within the damnation as the gates close just as soon as they had managed to open, only to resume time once more. All who stood before the hill would have suddenly found they had vanished with no explanation, their captain included. WC: 1,923

A great feeling of malice fell upon the conflicted soul as both the Captain spoke and several unforgiving eyes lay focused on his person. Their reactions weren't unforeseen by the Vizard that stood before them; however, no amount of preparation could have allowed his ego to take such a hit without a sting. Whether the words pierced his entirety or not though, it was certain that his flaws surpassed his strengths at the current moment in time. He could feel the utter morbidity honing into his very soul as the conversation carried forth with his old friend, and the inevitability of an oncoming onslaught would henceforth proceed. The very own member of his former Onmitsukido had since came full force towards the abandoned shinigami, who would lightly raise a singular hand towards his once beloved comrade. A strong force had begun to dampen his movements, as the ground beneath his pursuer gave forth from his further attempts to pursue Hitsuyona. It would be in this moment that Oriru had taken matters into his own hands, and ceased Shibi movements in an instant. Hitsuyona would look over to Oriru as he reiterates his previous statement, only to further enforce the ideal that he himself was to be currently perceived as an ally and not a foe. The young demented soul watched as his blade effortlessly floated to Oriru's lackey instead of receiving it for himself; however, the mere acceptance of such a gift was noteworthy given the current situation. Following such was a shocking discovery though, as the statement regardign his possible acceptance slip through. Hitsuyona's face appeared awestricken in light of this news, as he looks downwards for a slight moment. He couldn't help but think that Kaeru had instead set the waves of motion to overrule his forsaken fate, as opposed to hide its presence as per requested. "Always like him to leap through the loops instead of squander from the path, still, there's hope yet." A moments time passed as Hitsuyona collected his thoughts, and would then quickly begin to follow suite of Oriru as per requested. "Do what I do best huh?" He could only assume that was in reference to his previous titles specifically, as of recently abandoning his posts was likely not the purpose in said statement. "I'll follow from your rear, just outside the line of vision. It's best that we keep close, but expand our field of vision as much as possible." Hitsuyona had already taken note of the great difficulty to rely on any of his senses; at least, the difficulty of which he had to use them as compared to normal. Luckily enough for himself he was far too used to being subject to these kinds of situations. Teikei Kage had truly prepared this Onmitsukido Member for any and all environments in the past. "You must rely on your earthly senses within this territory Oriru, any irregularity's among spiritual pressure will only be recognized if incredibly obvious , but it seems as though sound will be our most reliable resource." Even within the irregularity of the mist that the trio would now find themselves in Hitsuyona could distinguish the footsteps of his allies, and so he used such to keep track of their whereabouts for the time being. It would also be duely noted that he could feel the presence of the wakizashi attached to Genshi, a feat he'd originally intended to place upon Oriru for safe keeping. It would then reach the inevitability of proposed questioning that Hitsuyona was attempting to avoid, as the Captain asks of his disappearance. It was surely a good question that demanded answers, and he was trying to prepare for it from the moment of his arrival. After allowing a slight sigh to escape his lips; one of which would have clearly been heard, he pitches his voice in the direction of the questioner. "I retreated to the outskirts of Rukongai in search of a way to separate the parasite that infects me; yet, it would appear that the hollow within is embedded within my very existence, and a complete separation is impossible. The only way to ensure the safety of the seireitei is purification through means of the Quincy, or to bear the curse. " The shinigami lightly touched where the curse seal once held the beast within, and looked upwards only to see further darkness. "I managed to dig deeper into my family history, only to find that I was one of many hybrids from birth, but such answers came at a steep cost. " His quickened his movements just long enough to come within eyeshot of his comrade, and raised his spiritual pressure slightly to reveal its true signature. Upon revealing a portion beneath his cloak, and allowing them to exend slight, chains would slightly rattle within earshot of the duo. "I've been to the fiery pits and lived to tell the tale, from the shadows I have came, but with secrets of a way to dwell among-st the planes. It wasn't my fate to dwell in such a place, but their grasps clutches tightly on any who enter." Allowing the chains to retract once more he would retreat just out of sight to keep the formation in-line. "I deeply regret the selfish actions I took, but a fate outside of home is total damnation my friend, and i seek to right my transgressions in due time." The weary souls hands clutch tightly upon the hilt of it's zanpaktou as he keeps and ear out for any foreigners among their formation, watching intently as permitted within the mysterious mist they found themselves indulged. Egriffiend's Night of Wailing [Event Arc]

001 l A Fleeting Presence, Unforeseen Arrival The narrowing rays of a dimly lit sky foretells a tail of grim adventures on such a haunting night to befall; begrudgingly so, that it would come so relentlessly upon the town of karakura. The vibrant hues of orange and purple are eerily transition into shades of grey as the onset of night may inevitably approach whilst amidst the dawn of an encroaching storm. Such habit-ants of this eve subjected to this oncoming discover would befall upon its curious oncoming without warning, yet another oddity on the eve of a rather peculiar day. Wind would rumble in its wake as indeterminate streaks of a blue hue fill the now crackling skies above. To any who'd had a sense of the climate on this particular day it would have come as quite the irregularity. Upon the ground did a mysterious fog appear upon those unlucky enough to be within its surroundings, which would now be accompanied by an unpredictable irregularly pulsating winds; which, awkwardly so would both temporarily lighten and dampen the newfound mists in no particular pattern. What seemed as if ages had passed since his last appearance upon the living, both mortal and spiritual alike. It was quite ironic to have chosen such a day to bring an appearance, yet oddly befitting of the soul now looming above the peculiar cemetery that held such a reputation upon this day. A night of which held a harrowing tale indeed for Shinigami and the living alike, most especially the Special Task Force in particular. How could one resist the urge to see such a travesty for himself, even if it had been ages since his last arrival. He could hear the scoldings of his co-workers now, as his lack of a single remark before disappearance for his self seeking and improvement was likely viewed as childish at the least. A single bolt of lightning comes crashing down from the raging storm above, and falls directly upon the side of one known as Oriru. Upon connecting with the surface the malleable particles surrounding its captaincy did materialize in a significant fashion as if to present itself in a dimly lit silhouette of a electrified humanoid figure. The being extended its arm outwards to Oriru with a certain sense of reluctance and regret. "Forgive me brother, but lest we allow the formalities of my punishment once this monstrosity be dispersed." As the words were formed so was the body of the voice from which it came, revealing the once acting Commander of the Onmitsukido, whom had since donned a blackened cloak attempting to conceal a monstrosity of its own. "It's presence has sinceforth remained one with myself it seems, as i only hope the green one would have informed you once upon a time. I may not deserve to be in any of your presence, yet I bring myself here to you with one request, allow me to join you in this crusade." As his body completely formed it would reveal a partial mask of pale white and teal, having become a true counterpart to the alleged species they so mercilessly forsake. Hitsuyona would pull the hood down to fully reveal his disturbing presence to all who surrounded himself. It was without question that his former friends would have an immediate defensive reaction whilst looking to those who held some form of leadership among them. His face showed a great shame, but managed to muster a half smile beneath it all somehow. "It would seem as though I have become one of the many stories I once told you friend, but I swear to you I hold a immeasurable advantage and certain level of necessity beneath this curse." Hitsuyona would reach into his cloak before pulling a dual sheathed zanpaktou from his whereabouts, one of which he lightly tossed towards his hopefully comrade. It was the once renowned Tekkai Kage that he so pridefully dawned long ago, as he had managed to retrieve them from the depths of a place left only the wicked dwell. "Surely you of all people would know a rightful place for the empty shell of what she once was. I've since transgressed past the capability of Asauichi, for we are one." His voice held an undertone of what once would have been recognized as Hitsuyona, yet accompanied by a echoing sound of a female entity. TECHSl WC; 725/1500

    The Warrior Khan Of Rukongai

The once profound and deserving often found themselves victims of demise and belittlement as of late it would seem; begrudgingly so, on this very day that the naivety of his peers actions becomes increasingly apparent. One could only hope that the capacity of his counterpart had recognized its inexplicit limitations that had been so recently apparent, yet as time would pass the likelihood became increasingly doubtful. It wasn't ones place to intervene in such trivial matters though, as orders were indeed specifically the opposite. That was to say, that the souls intervention were left solely to a complete necessity should such an occasion were to arise. So did he merely follow in observance of the events that would soon unfold, under cover of such transparency that would go without interruption. It had been certain that the task at hand had become quite the time consuming one, and one of patience was required to get the job done. Something did bring about a certain level of uncertainty though, the absolute need for an officer of such rank to be followed unknowingly to even their stature proved to be baffling. Much like salt to the wound were both parties forced into a position of uncertainty in this department, albeit of complete derivative. The current destination of which its subject fell plainly short of its expectations sadly, that their travels would lead among wakes of quarrelling commoners; interestingly enough, in which one caught the eye of Hitsuyona particularly. The towering individual appeared as though at least ten feet tall, and gave off a rather powerful essence that Kaeru had been drawn to. His frog like companion goes on to reveal himself to the strange being that stand before them, and follows up with a strike of conversations. Hitsuyona would soon find himself relocating to stay within eyesight of the duo whome retreat to cover to continue their endeavors. Though things did quickly begin to deteriorate for the Captain as time unfolds between the duo, likely speculated to be due to a repeated lack of understanding on the towering individuals part. Such drastically different points of view were bound to clash inevitably, and Hitsuyona knew all too well this comrade wasn't one to back down from a fight, even if the soul remained in a weakened state. Hitsuyona let out a dragged out breath from such a distance no one would likely hear, and begins shaking his head as the fight let out to a start. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the weak captain, but had no plans to bail the old friend out of this mess if not needed. It was however disappointing that Kaeru's first real combat since returning had to be against his biggest disadvantage though, a savage brute with the power to roast the amphibious being. His head lowers for a moment as the fight carries on feeling those ever so frequent migraines of intense magnitude striking once again. "This one's strong Hitsuyona, you might need my help to defeat the behemoth before your eyes, especially since your friend is about to bite the dust. Remember our deal?" The emblem upon his arm begins glowing teal;however, beneath the cloak protecting his identity. "I never agreed to such proposterous terms!" ------------------------------------ A moment later Hitsuyona stood in watch as his comrade began to appear to be on the losing end of a previously begun battle between the two oddities. The battle was becoming ever more so clear that the giant were on the path to becoming the victor, a rather negative outcome for the Soul Society should Hitsuyona allow an even to pass. Still under bindings of the invisibility he would begin to make his way ever so closer to the frog, whilst the giant mockingly wastes time with words. One word spoken, that's all it took to appear directly behind the frog. He could see that the Shinigami could barely stand upon this last blow, and makes a light touch on the should of his companion to make him aware of his hidden presence. Or rather, used it as a form of moors code. "Speak nothing of what you are about to witness." It was done so in a very rapid pace, but if the green ally was as perceptive as he'd been in the past it would have been easily understood. Hitsuyona's cloaked body walks around the frog just as the giant finishes his first sentence. He would then reach down to his sheathed Zanpaktou if but for a single moment in pondering. He clearly was going to have to face this behemoth that stand before him, but his power in such a weakened state wouldn't suffice for such a battle. Even with this man in a weakened state from the concluding battle Hitsuyona was skeptical given his drop to Vice Captain level power. He clenches his fists tightly before closing his eyes. At this point this Moord individual starts to go on about the real threat of something another, but Hitsu wasn't exactly caring of his words. [Inner world, real life time duration a few seconds] Thunder rolls endlessly as the Shinigami's eyes open to reveal the inner world of which his Zanpaktou's spirit resides, gazing upon the vast plains tainted with a static so vibrant yet tame. The figure stood towering over him much like the Giant previously before him, and with great pride of a noble that knew of its status. Formerly known as Raijin, the God of Thunder stands before his very eyes with a look of Malice. His incredible figure lends out an open palm before speaking with a crackling echo much like that of the thunder that plagues these lands. "A soul of both Shinigami and Quincy descent stands before me powerless following a travel to the plains from which I reign, having fused with the essence of his very own Zanpaktou, and there's something else deep inside of you that once flourished but has since subsided..." Narukame would reach outwards with a singular finger as a streaming bolt of lightning harmlessly strikes Hitsuyona, merely traveling through his body effortlessly. The blue hue in his eyes and hair begins glowing as the Shinigami begins to levitate whilst maintaining eye contact with his spirit. "I can offer you three things my young boy, and all it costs is something simple really. I release you from the seal you don, as well as grant you a power you once had and a portion of mine as well. All I ask in return is that you release me from this prison once in a while, perhaps one day indefinitely. I once called Raijin wish to return to the plains from which i came after all." Electricity courses through the veins of Hitsuyona as he begins to feel a surge of power, and malice all the same. It was an intense feeling of both Rage and Pride emanating from Narukame. The lightning fills the eyes of Hitsuyona as he stares intently into the one who referred to himself as Raijin so recently. He wasn't sure if he could believe this man so light heartedly, but times came when one must carry burdens and make sacrifices for what they believed in. Still he had to be sure of the claims potential, as his hand raises to his forehead, before quickly moving downwards as a mask of white and teal forms. This was all the proof he would need to immediately respond. "I accept." ------------------------------------------ [1]Hitsuyonas cloaking Kido fails under the immense pressure soaring through his being as the Brutish giant just begun to swing his blade. The Reiatsu and particles of electricity shoot forth with great instensity as the Shinigami's sword near instantaneously leaves its sheath. [2]Upon this point one without perceptive capabilities would have just now begun to feel the effects of what had been transpiring, as Hitsuyona's hand raise from his waist to cast Bakudō Horin. The yellow tendrils emit from his free hand wrapping around the attack to redirect it from himself towards the left. At this point the behemoth attempts a strike from the bottom left in a arcing upwards fashion as Hitsuyona both grips the weapon with Horin and points the edge of his zanpaktou at the blade. [3]"Sho". The combined efforts of Horin fail, but not before it slowed the oncoming attack, and allowing his 'Sho' to push both of them away from one another. [4] After such Hitsuyona would mere bob and weave twice to avoid the slow and brutish strikes while pushing the frog ally backwards with him. He would grab his ally before unleashing a full frontal Shunpo at lightning fast speeds retreating with the wounded Shinigami. His actions happened in such a fashion that those without the capability to 'easily' perceive his movements would have not only missed his disappearance, but likely saw an afterimage in their place instead. Such an action would have given off an impression that they had never left in the first place for but a split moment. Several hundred feet from their previous location Hitsuyona stops by a tall oak tree allowing his frog friend to use it for support if need. He was sure Kaeru would have a hundred questions for him later, like not only why he no longer has Tekkei Kage, but a brand new Zanpaktou. But more importantly why the fuck he was a vizard. He would deal with such quarrels later though, holding out a hand to allow small surges of eltricity seal the bleeding wounds of his friend. It would've been painful to some extent while also needed. "I knew I would need to keep an eye on your foolish acts of naivity following news of your return. Same as always you don't know the need for rest of recovery, even in times of necessity." Even though he seemed to be scalding the Captain commander, of all people, there was a smile upon his face. "But I'm glad to see you've returned friend, you owe me more than an explanation now." There was a chuckle that escaped his mouth in response to the words to follow as the Shinigami vanished back towards whence he came. A storm had since formed above the plains, and a heavy rain begins to fall on the heated battlefield that would create a misty steam at a nonstop rate. At the eye of the storm the two would find themselves, as Hitsuyonas demeanor stood tall with blade and a ball of lightning in hand. "I regret to inform you that the biggest threat here is the fools such as yourself who so carelessly disrupt the balance we hold so sacred. Such foolishness tilts to planes and realms that coexists into an altered reality of inevitable destruction, these voids or rifts as you citizens coined them are of your own doing. It's up to people like me to slaughter countless lives in the other realms to rectify this belittling stupidity that you force upon us."Hitsuyona stood ready for combat with this being, and could tell he was tiring more rapidly upon the unleashing of his raw power. Surely this man couldn't last much longer after such a rapid display of power he earlier demonstrated, but Hitsuyona would have to see for himself. Prelude: The Journey Thus Far

OOCl Please read previous old ass posts first? Apologies for the absence/ shifted storyline, as I haven’t the faintest clue where it was going, here goes… Wind blows ferociously under a dimly lit cloud upon the horizon, as forestry effortlessly sway in its favor under pressure of the disastrous power before it. Nary a soul to be seen in its surrounding villages, absent of all signs of life as of currently; however, it’s counterpart towers the presence of shacks and huts about one klick to its south east being the result of present conditions. It’s succulent grip effortlessly pulls shrubbery from the ground and into the seemingly endless vortex that lies within its center. The strength of which its center pulls exacerbates with time, causing the terrain to falter with increased intensity as a result. It would appear as though the village had come across an inevitably impending doom. A few moments earlier Hitsuyona Shizukesa Inadvertently approaches an oncoming storm as he comes to a sudden halt amongst the surrounding scent of familiarity. “I must be getting closer, salt water is nearby.” His captains shihakusho fluttered lightly revealing three wakizashi strapped firmly to his person. “Oh how the time has passed.” The captain’s firmly calloused fingertips reached steadily upon the sheath of a singular blade placing a light grip before pulling the sword from his waist. A moment later he let out an exaggerated sigh before continuing once more to his destination. His travels led to a nearby salt lake accompanied by rancid and rundown docks. He couldn’t help but feel nostalgic and highly disappointed at the wretched sight that lay before his very eyes. It had once been a safe haven to the child he faintly recalled a lifetime ago; regrettably so, a place that had previously hosted community events and held a special place in his heart, a memory of a time when the tides of his fate shifted to form the man he is today. Within this peripheral he caught a glimpse of yet another reminiscent location, an old willow tree that stand at such great magnitude than he last remembered. The disappointment across his face make way for a shallow grin in response. “How ironically befitting, don’t you think?” He would say whilst his eyes glance at the blade firmly gripped as he makes his way to the willow. Standing directly in front of its bark Hitsuyona takes a seat placing the zanpaktou across his lap. His eyes close for a moment while slowly moving his hand across the blade starting from the hilt. The Zanpaktou begins emitting a light blue aura slightly swaying as if it were the surface of a calm ocean. Once reaching the ends of the blade Hitsuyona lifted his hands slowly while the zanpaktou begins to levitate. . Hitsuyona slowly begins to turn his hands vertically causing the blade to maneuver accordingly. He would then open his eyes to gaze upon the vibrantly glowing sword with a solemn stare as if trying his best to hide any signs of emotion. "The path to power is often riddled with despair, and today we honor your sacrifice Ginjo Xoi, might your spirit live on as part of Narukami." Slowly did the zanpaktou float towards the tree before phasing within. "Your burdens are now mine to carry, brother." His hand reaches to the star outline etched within his arm, causing the vibrant blue to engulf around it. As the spell resides both the seal and tree would slowly fade to their original appearances, just as the approaching storm remains directly above. A single bolt of lightning comes crashing down directly onto Hitsuyona and redirects into the tree as well, instantly setting its entirety ablaze followed by heavy rainfall. The jolt surely caught the man off guard, but did hardly any real damage to himself. Instead, the Shinigami merely lowered his head and let out a scoff. "You always were one to make an appearance at the most inconvenient times." Nearby stood an inner court troop member kneeling until his presence had been acknowledged, finally reaching a standing point after his recognition. "Captain, your assistance is required immediately." He looked over to his comrade with a bleak look on his face. "I can feel it as well, you're dismissed." The man simply nodded before dispersing. His gaze once again returns to the now smoke covered tree that remain standing strongly in its place. "My friend even the heavens weep at your dismissal from this plain." Hitsuyona found himself ironically close to the recently caused disturbance that his court member had attempted to alert him of. It was a rather sad fact that holdings of such a position couldn't even permit the time to pay respects to the fallen, but a matter such as this surely had a damned good reason for someone other than himself to order his troops to come hunting. Whatever the case happened to be Hitsuyona decided it needed to be dealt with swiftly, as he wasn't too fond of the fact that his ceremony had been cut short. In an instant the Shinigami's presence would seemingly vanish in the blink of an eye. He'd headed in the general direction of the presence that was sensed becoming increasingly wary with every passing moment at how its intensity would so steadily rise. "The rifts were supposed to be closing not reappearing!" Present Time The rift had since grown in power such that trees began to uproot more than a quarter mile from its origin, and the surrounding huts would soon be swallowed by its never ending hunger. Surrounding its entirety were members of collectively three squads, being the 10th, the onmitsukido, and the kido corps. A variety of scientific inventions were firing unknown beams at its center whilst barriers attempt to withhold the violent force that consumes all. Patrol Corps and Executive militia merely stood by in preparations to flank any and all invaders that may or may not come from this portal; however, it had been doubtful that any beings would be capable of escaping from such a force. "Why isn't this working?!""We can't form barriers before they are consumed by the void!" "Were losing control of the perimeter Captain what should we do?!" The chatter was much an endless array of terrified squad members frantically attempting anything they could to disable this horrendous situation, yet sought guidance that couldn't be given. They ran rampantly about as many a weaker shinigami incapable of appropriate strength begin to lose their footing flying aimlessly towards impending doom. It would be at this moment than an instantly forming black abyss consume all within the area causing mass hysteria to those whom didn't understand what had just happened; although, how would they understand what had never been explained and/or capable of doing so. Those viciously nearing the rift find themselves grappled by a mysterious substance that would just as quickly return their footing to the ground. "ALL PERSONS WHOM ARE NOT OF VICE CAPTAIN RANK OR CAPTAIN RETREAT IMMEDIATELY." Hitsuyonas voice echoed with an intense force of such strength that could be heard from a full kilometer alerting all those that the mission had been officially abandoned for all non essential persons. As the many fled a handful of persons would soon appear at the pinpoint of the voices location all in unison. "There's no reason to hold back now." To his left were Squad 12's Vice and Captain, and the vice versa standing to his right. "Let's hope the rookie can live up to his potential, time to prove your worth Shizukesa." Says the twelfth who would follow by withdrawing his blade. It was quite alright by himself for them to think little of him though, as they knew nothing of what they did in the first place. They likely thought of his power to be little as a new captain who had never shown any of those present even a fragment of his truest potential. "Give it everything you've got." The words would then stop as they all clearly understood ever passing moment made way for greater risk of the district being compromised. "Can we really close this thing?" Hitsuyona was beginning to have doubts about the outcome of this entire scenario. He'd been present at all the other voids thus far; begrudgingly, even the very one that consumed the Captain Commander Xarius himself. One couldn't imagine watching their friend and commander consumed to never be heard from again, let alone be one to either face a similar fate or watch as many comrades before him to do so. Pressing such thoughts aside he clutched his blades tightly approaching ever closer to the rift above having now launched himself into the air. An enormous surge of spiritual pressure began to fill the air from the variety of high ranking officers as they all begin to use Zanpaktou powers and powerful Kido in attempts to close the void. The process was simple in nature if they could own up to the task, but proved thus far to be impossible. If the group could manage to engulf its entirety without their attempts failing it would consume itself with nothing else to gather in such a confined space. The squad twelves captain stood with great demeanor while holding his hands outwards. "Seeping crest of turbidity. Arrogant vessel of lunacy! Boil forth and deny! Grow numb and flicker! Disrupt sleep! Crawling queen of iron! Eternally self-destructing doll of mud! Unite! Repulse! Fill with soil and know your own powerlessness! Hado number ninety Kurohitsugi! " The blackened coffin begins to form while constantly starting to lose its composure as he attempts to cast the spell. It was barely holding form as holes start to form. His vice captain would soon follow up with Bakudo Number seventy three Tozanshō directly around his captains Black Coffin; however, the attempts seemed to be moot. As the barrier begins to crack the Kido Corps Captain and vice captain steps forth. The duo Simultaneously begin casting multiple incantationless Bakudo number eighty one, Danku, a major feat for even the kido corps. Several wall like barriers begin to form around the now multitude of kido surrounding the massive vortex. Around this time hitsuyona's tendril shoots forth from his captains cloak number nine in attempts to plug the already filling holes in their defense attempts exterior. It begins to hold for a fleeting moment, yet the rift manages to hold just long enough for a one meter hole to shoot forth from the kido. Its tremendous force nearly instantly begins drawing in the group as a whole. Hitsuyona would immediately retreat with intense speed beside his comrades allowing his shadows to dissipate, and quickly forms yet another stream of solidified tendrils that simultaneously wrap around them all excluding himself. "Hold the barrier! " "What is the meaning of this Hitsuyona?" The Onmitsukido Chief would lightly look at them all with a smile. "Today I redefine the way of the Onmitsukido friends, the Soul Society couldn't recover from the loss of both a Captain Commander , Onmitsukido commander, both being part of the 3 checks and balances, not to mention all high ranking officers from two other squads. "How dare you even begin to" Before the twelfth could finish his sentence Hitsuyona would interrupt with a single word. "Bankai." In that moment a large Barrier would engulf the entire area for 100 meters in all directions causing all but Hitsuyona to be devoid of sight sound and ability to perceive reiatsu; however, he would immediately grant them the capability of all but to speak. He couldn't risk any of them trying to unleash Bankai to stop him, and they couldn't otherwise drop their barriers lest they all be doomed. "Do me a favor would ya?" He turns back to glance at the four one last time. "After I save yalls asses the least you could do is give em mine AND your vote for him to take Commander." Hitsuyona shunpo'd at the cracking barriers with such intensity that a large crater was left its wake. At the moment that he began to be pulled close to the vortex he let out a cry and shortened the perimeter of his impenetrable 'cage' just large enough to fit the vortex. "Consume all within your grasp! Teikei Kage!" The ground beneath begins to shake violently as the Vices and Captains merely stand in watch of the barrier slow shrink in size, before viciously spinning appearing to collapse within itself to vanish instantly. Upon the vortexes disappearance a massive explosion of wind would send any remaining objects and forestry within several kilometers repelling in the opposite direction, while the four quickly raise barrier defenses to avoid said repercussions. The threat had officially been eliminated, but at the cost of yet another Captain's disappearance. The four look upon each other and their surroundings for a moment in attempts to discern what had just happened. Finally, the Kido Corps commander looks down to his Vice with a look of disappointment. "Request Shuu to meet with me at the barracks, I must seek out the company of the 46 immediately. The others can alert the rest of our remaining captains." Elsewhere Hitsuyona could slowly feel his being sucked within the vortex only to be accompanied by a pitch black space devoid of any of his senses except his connection with Teikei Kage. It was ironically something he'd grown used to over the years aside from his feeling, yet still somehow brought about a certain level of discomfort given the specific situation at hand. How could he search for Kaeru if he couldn't move, or at the least even begin to tell if he were moving to begin with. Better yet, how could he even be sure if he were moving or not? The only thing he knew for sure was the presence felt currently seemed to slowly fade. "Teikei?" There was no response as his inner thoughts began to anxiously race. Was this what it felt like to die? Where there not fleeting a plethora of memories as people so often claimed? Would he meet some maker? An unknown amount of time passes as he begins to feel as though the extent of his remaining existence would be this hopeless wish for anything more, until finally something caught his attention. The aura was faintly approaching as he could feel its familiarity come upon him. "Teikei Kage." But still nothing remained in response as the two conjoin to give his being a form of absolute clarity. The fragmented soul had finally became one, and he now understood clearly what his purpose was. Hitsuyona empty void had been filled if not but for a fleeting moment as his senses return one by one. Water.. He could feel it upon his skin followed by the desperate need to breath. Taste, it was salt water on the tip of his tongue. Opening his eyes he sees the surface some distance away launching himself with great force upwards. His ears ring with the intense depressurization as he soars out the water onto the small shore he once knew so well. Hitsuyona lets out a horrible cough as water spews before he gasps for air. Looking up he finds there to be only one tree remaining, a great willow that stood cracked and charred the exact way he remembered it to be last. Of all the things to have stood before him he would have truly expected the old barren tree to have fallen victim to the Rift. Standing up he collects his composure in wonderance of just what truly happened. A part of the soul wished to believe he had been launched into the lake while having some odd near death clarity, but his lack of connection with Teikei Kage was clearly vacant. He felt different though, complete, his lack of belonging and resentment seemed null and void. There was no longer that obsession to clear his name, and no more need to prove his worth, but most of all he felt weaker. Just what had happened to the soul? His concentration and/or trance suddenly found itself broken at an astonishing feeling of a particular person's presence, and causes the Shinigami's eyes to glare intently at the trees center whilst that dastardly blue aura flares vibrantly so. He could feel the presence of Ginjo surely as if it called to him, or rather connected with him. His arm began to unwillingly raise as if pulling himself towards the willow, before suddenly the Zanpaktou would shoot forth rapidly flying into his hands. Sparks of electricity emit from the blade causing a whirring sound to fill Hitsuyonas ears. "Even in death you never cease to amaze me, but perhaps it was destined to be so. As vicious as a burning blaze, as calm as the ocean breeze. A beast showing of both compassion and merciless wrath. The eye of the storms horizon upon us soon to be foul, those who refuse to forfeit shall fall smitten under your prowl. Disperse at once Narukame" A single bolt of lightning strikes down from above hitting the blade as it glows a significantly bright hue of teal. “Whom is it that summons me?” He stares intently into his glowing zanpaktou before closing his eyes to appear within the spiritual world of its foreign spirit so awkwardly contacted. The connection established between both Ginjo and himself had somehow unintentionally formed a connection all its own between the wielder and sword; that, and the previous establishment and binding Hitsuyona had previously place between himself and his fallen friends Zanpaktou. There was also one other matter at hand… Hitsuyona finds himself to be surrounded by an endless meadow under the dimly lit sky that is crowded with storm clouds that so happen to allow fragments of moonlight to penetrate their presence. A dense fog remains upon them while a thundering roar echoes in the distance. “You’re different from before, I marked you boy. But something has changed, in death you Shinigami become one with your zanpaktou -granted the means of death depending- forever stuck in the cycle we serve as to rejoin the cycle of life as a tool of destruction, but you, she fused with you.” The acclaimed god of thunder himself stands before Hitsuyona with a sense of pride in his voice, looking down upon the Shinigami with a sly grin on his face. “You don’t need me to complete you child, but you do want my power don’t you? A man on the path of power who has lost it all how belittling of fate.” He looks to the seal only to further confirm himself that Hitsuyona had indeed been fated to this in more than one way. “I propose a deal, I offer you my power and burden, what say you?” PS: The first part of this post was the old version of Hitsuyona, so any of his capabilities from that point aren't 100% 'gained' on the actual character, simply an introductory post.... Firstly the point of ND is not to ignore the concept of stamina at all? If you let some hit you in the face with the excuse of natural defenses? You’ll lose some natural defense and it’s still gonna cause some-moderate damage depending. Take a 200 damage cero point blank to the head ? Dead, I mean use common sense people. The entire idea behind the natural defense system is to dampen the blow so to speak. Rash wasn’t saying you don’t take any damage if you use ND it’s just the difference or losing an arm and getting a deep cut/broken arm etc.

    Prelude: The Journey Thus Far

002 l A Fateful Encounter Decadence, a word most fitting the lost soul, who wanders in a form most degenerate in comparison to his former self. The sun falls most wickedly upon his now more than fair skin on such a day. Sweat doesn't roll down the face of this boy who longs for water, as his body clearly is in need of water. He was Deprived of more than simply fluids though, shown by the tattered clothes that seem most filthy and rugged in nature, and to such an extent that it reveal his ribs beneath a torn shirt. The hungry boys' feet drag across a dirt road that approaches a nearby village, and his facial expression remains solemn in this grand discovery. He wouldn't so much as raise an eyebrow to the thought of salvation, no, hope to be rescued from starvation was a pinnacle of emotion he'd since realized to be futile. An orphan of purity where of no more importance than the stray dog whom fed upon thrown away scraps. He didn't care if it came from the richest civilian in town, or the shack business 'barely making it'. Hitsuyona draws nearer to the oncoming village as his eyes gaze more so closely. It was your run of the mill town, at least for this side of Rukongai so to speak. He needed to get a good idea of what it looker like, and where everything was. This was all necessary to figure out the best place to get a bite to eat, a satchel of water, or something needed to continue surviving town to town. He looks across all the huts and stalls, as well as the few things that were as close to an actual house for miles. The nearby food stall with no apparent shopkeep was peeking his interests most, therefore, the young man can't help but pick up the pace. Hitsuyona a needed to make a good snag before anyone returned, it was just too easy to pass up on an empty stomach. The frail boy nears this stall with haste ducking behind it as no one is looking, and grabs the first protein rich meal he saw, which happened to be a cooked salmon. Scurrying off and in a hurry, the boy chows down as he vanishes into a near alley, where he would hide until he'd disposed of the evidence. Far from food, yet satisfied compared to his prior situation, the boy walks upon the street once more. Walking onwards he divulges deeper into the heart of the town, which is where these houses he had seen earlier reside. Along his mellow pace he could hear sounds of screaming which originate from the stall he'd visited. The disgruntled shopkeeper noticing product missing in his absence. The angered clerk did draw the attention of a few members of the public, but only one would stand out to Hitsuyona. A woman whose appearance weren't rugged nor established, still yet, clearly well off compared to others of this place. More so than this was a water skin swaying from her hip as she walked to address the stall owner in distress over his one good fish missing. Just as this woman would pass by the child newcomer, Hitsuyona would turn roundabout to quietly follow. His eyes were dead set on retrieving the water, even with risking the chance of being seen. This much is shown when Hitsuyona pulls forth a kunai from his tatter pants. The blade skillfully sneaks up on the woman barely grazing the rope that kept the satchel upon her pants. Just as he would go to yank and cut it free, the woman turns grasping the boys hand that wields the kunai. "And what do we have here?!" She would say before her eyes fall upon him, a face of which turns from anger to near shock. The woman stand laying witness to Hitsuyona's physique and what one would hardly call attire. His body in general 'scrawny' looking to weigh no more than 100 pounds soaking wet. She could see his ribs through the ripped shirt that were stained in blood and other unknown fluids. Overall, it was wrong for a child to look this way, at least to a caring soul such as her. The woman rips the kunai from hitsuyona's grip, and her face shakes regaining a calm expression. She would then grab the boy by the ear as Hitsu slightly makes a shrieking sound. "When did you last drink?" Hitsu's facial expression remained overall empty, as he had an idea of what was soon to come. He could imagine it now, all the different physical beatings or immoral punishments to come. He'd found silence ended with the least pain at this point. When an answer wasn't give the woman would go to move her hand towards him. Hitsu closes his eyes flinches in this moment in expectance of a backhand, and the woman's face remain in awe as her hand gracefully touch his face. "You're burning up, come." Hitsu proceeds to be drug by his ear in accordance to where the woman pleased to take him, in this case, to a smaller shack of sorts. As he is being drug the boy is utterly confused by the woman's actions He hadn't been sure if she were showing mercy or simply taking the matter behind closed doors. More so, the kind tone of her last words left a lasting impression on his face, like a ghost had appeared before him. It were as if he could hear the comforting sound of his mothers voice, this kind phrase triggering a memory of a mothers love. The woman guides the boy into the shack as the door is opened, and points towards a nearby bed. "Sit." He complies with her orders, unsure entirely as to why, nearly out of instinct to avoid any more pulling of ears. After doing so, this lady grabs the satchel of water and tosses it to him. "Drink, before you dehydrate and pass out on my floor." He happily takes this order, gulping nearly every drop in a fast manner. She would now close the door behind herself to have privacy from the public who looked awkwardly. She crosses her arm before closely examining the child before her. "What's your name?" Hitsuyona's blank stare had become more of a mellow tone now, his appearance more relaxed than before. "Hit, hitsuyona." She continues staring as if still waiting. "Well, what about your last name, you do have one don't you?" The boy looked away for a second, as if reluctant to release this information. He'd known all to well from past experience how others treated him when they discovered his family name. She was persistent, however, and released her crossed arms to begin walking towards him. One good grip on hitsuyona's ears was enough to get him talking again. "Fine! Shizukesa." Her eyes widen significantly for a moment as her grip loosens. He could practically feel the discomfort in the air. " Where is your family?" The boy's blank expression seemed to remain as his judgemental eyes stared deeply into the woman's. "All dead to my knowledge." It was all beginning to sink in the homeowners mind, she was putting one and one together. "Very well, if you wish to stay you shall pay your part in labor. " she walks to the door and begins to take her exit. Just before shutting the door though, she looks once more. "You will address me as Mam, not misses, and you will begin tomorrow. Your first task is whatever our local shopkeeper tells you to do, that was his biggest catch in weeks you know." Shed caught on to how food went missing as well, smiling as shuts the door behind her. Allowing the boy to rest, the owner began to unravel out of sight of Hitsuyona. "What a sad day indeed." One Day Later -------------------------- Hitsuyona awakens from his slumber, jerking from his placement in the bed to sot upright in a near instant. He gasps for a breath of air before the look of terror leaves his face. The same dream once again, day in and day out. One that never ceased to strike fear in his heart, to the point he'd almost missed the sound of a light knocking that had since ceased After a short stretch he stands from his resting place, and approaches the door. Hitsuyona opens expecting to see the kind lady with a fiery side, but is surprised by a man and girl. He doesnt fake a smile or give a welcoming , but instead steps the side to allow them to enter. Meanwhile, he would observe more closely the man to see how this situation would unfold, as a blade was never accompanied by a salesman or commoner. His next words were fairly direct though before they entered. "She did invite you no?" "Yes. She mentioned you as well; it would seem we're roommates for a bit." The man stated plainly whilst smiling and taking his entrance. Hitsuyona continued to observe the duo as they would seemingly begin to take their entrance. They had a general respect for homes even if it seemed they were merely travelers as himself, noted as shoes are removed while responding to ensure this duo would be his temporary roomates. As Hitsu continued to observe, he could quickly tell that these two weren't together by chance. He could almost sense a connection from how kind the man were to the girl, likely a brotherly figure at the least. The way he ruffled her hair and so selflessly assisted her in removing her shoes to show respect was an obvious example. "I'm Selena! It's nice to meet you mister!" After the young towering man struggles to fit his larger figure into the doorway, he goes on to continue that sign of respect that seemed so seldom. His bow was welcoming, but he didn't do so in a manner to regard hitsu as a higher figure. The man looks to his traveler as the young girl would mimic in these actions; however, she welcomes a near innocent smile and responds. The girl who had now excitedly introduced herself as selena threw him off guard. It was like she hadn't a care in the world. Hitsuyona's outward expression stays blank through this as the girl would further examine him before attempting to speak. "Ask later, Sel." The largest of the three had spoken to the girl before she'd the chance to speak of her own accord, after having noticed the rather 'gruff' appearance that bestowed the majority of Hitsuyona's physical demeanor as of late. It was the man who'd chosen to speak in this 'selenas' place that had begun to draw the attention of the frail boy upon this moment though, as his kind eyes and smile begin to conflict with the zanpaktou that his hand now rests upon. "I'm Ginjo Xoi .. that's my little sister, Selena Xoi. It's a pleasure to meet you." Hearing the official introduction did bring about question to the boy's mind though. Ginjo xoi, he couldn't help but feel the last name were familiar. He was however, too young to tie any real recollection of such a distant memory. Shrugging this idea off, he returns his attention to the current matter. He knew that it was know his turn to return some form of introduction, as it was a formality even if he hadn't been used to it anymore. His social skills were rusty, but the young man raises his hand to rub the back of his head. "Hitsuyona.." There's a slight interruption between the first and last name, as if reluctant to say it at first, before he finally shrugs the bad feeling. "Shizukesa, its a pleasure to meet you as well." During their short exchange the one known as Selena had begun running around the room in excitement, and found her way about the place with utter enjoyment. "Selena, be careful .. this isn't ours. If you hurt something by falling we'll have to pay for fixing it. I don't even know if there's a fight ring here so you may be our main source of income- till we know don't do anything crazy." No sooner than his introduction ceased, he could hear a light crash. Hitsu turns to notice this Selena on her back, and her brotherly figure was soon to chime in. Her actions weren't entirely in vain though, as it gives Hitsuyona a little insight. The reference to a fighting ring clearly let him know Ginjo put that blade ,or towering figure, to use. He was however unsure of the girls talents. A possible answer to his wonder is soon to come though, when the girl allows some green healing energy to form around her light head injury just sustained. "Ah, that's right .. she wants us to pay for our stay. If you need help making ends meet to stay here let me know alright? I'll do what I can to help ya' out." Ginji would have stated lightly while smiling and placing his hands within his pockets, and having done so would have innately ignored the active power that the girl seemed to have so easily displayed in front of the two men. Hitsuyona's focus passively stays with the girl and her green illuminating light that lightly surrounds the wounds on her body. He hadn't layed witness to anything like it, and his interests were certainly peaked. He actually couldn't help but allow his left hand lower from his scalp to his torso, where an abundance of old scars and newly healing wounds lay. "An extraordinary child indeed." It was actually an ironic statement, given that his appearance was of a mere adolescent in actuality, and his years of life were few compared to the vast amounts of peope present within this world. His interests had actually caused a reaction he weren't aware of. The desire to learn more allowed a bit of his reaistu to pour forth, the light blue aura nearly unnoticed to the naked eye. It's entity though, giving off a very cold and solemn presence to those gifted enough to feel it pour forth. The light blue reiatsu that poured forth gave off a burning sensation that derived his eagerness to learn such a trait, and was coupled with the years of exposure to the cruel world he had been a part of thus far. Having ignored the mans words he suddenly remembers hearing them. Looking back to Ginjo he would nod, allowing his recognition be known. He didn't seek to have anyone pay his way through life,as he didn't let such a thing happen so far. This was also to say that he didn't exactly trust them, even if it appeared they meant well. He was, however, interested in them to say the least. He was never against seemingly appearing welcome to suggestion, if it meant a chance to observe without confrontation. Ginjo had since shifted his glance to Selena once more, chuckling at Hitsuyona's choice of words before nodding slightly in agreement. "She has a really weak body; but her reiatsu control and skill in Kido as a whole is ridiculous." Ginjo stated this with a sense of pride, as if he was greatly appreciative of such a compliment, but the look upon his face alters when he began to feel the essence emitting from the boy in front of himself. The boy's burning reiatsu caused a brow to raise without doubt, and his contemplation of its purpose was concluded with it having been necessary to have reiastu if he appeared to have some level of starvation. "Tell me more of the fighting rings, and of this ability she posses. Perhaps that alone should be enough to help me make ends keep without my 'expertise'." Hitsuyona had chimed in with this comment on account of noticing the 'looks' the two gave him, as if to switch the subject before it could approach. Ginjo would have lightly clapped in response to his question without words to accompany them. This caught the attention of Selena, who had been previously distracted with her own menial actions, which now shifts to staring at Ginjo and Hitsuyona with a sense of curiosity. Ginjo would begin to move towards another room within the house, once again having to duck so that his towering figure doesn't collide with the houses structure. In doing so he would wave a hand for the other two to follow, in which case Selena shows no hesitation in doing so. Hitsuyona was confused by this gesture, but decides to comply as to not seem reluctant at this current moment in time. It would have seemed his desire to learn more of these things he had been exposed to thus far exceeded the cautionary instincts that lay dormant. Upon entering the room he would find Ginjo beginning to take a seated position, and allowing his zanpaktou to rest upon the floor and his shoulder. Selena would be quick to follow in this action of sitting, as Ginjo makes a notion for Hitsuyona to join as well. He would slowly take a seat a few feet from the duo in front of himself while staring intently in awaiting their explanations. "Lets see .. you asked about Kido first, so let's start there. Sel- tell him about reiatsu and kido, he saw your kaido and got curious." Selena blinks without responding to his request before turning her head to face Hitsuyona. The previously brown eyes turn green as she begins examining him for a moment, and they soon return to their original hue. "He has some reiatsu .. but its really underdeveloped .. lots of potential though. He's got almost as much as you despite not having any training, Ginny." She'd spoken in a calm tone that seemed to not bring any amount of surprise to Ginjo, who would have now slowly closed his eyes for a moment. Hitsuyona still felt confused about the situation though, as he wasn't exactly well-versed on how reiatsu seemed to work. He knew it existed, but not how one obtained any level of its existence, or even how one could 'see' and 'sense' it. Thus far in life its level of usefulness had been entirely based around his 'instincts'. He hadn't particularly known it, but thus far he had judged people by the menial ability to 'sense' how one was merely by being near them. Selena dons a 'bright' smile before suddenly continuing with her lesson of sorts. "I used what's called Kaido- it's healing spells, that the Shinigami use! We had a teacher; and he taught us a lot of things before .. before .." She suddenly becomes silent before staring away from Hitsuyona with a look that brought about concern. Gin would look down to her before continuing where she would have left off. "Before he left us. In any case, it uses your spiritual pool- your Reiryoku. If you learn to properly compress and control it, you create reiatsu- and using that you can break it even further into specialized usages. Kido is one of them; spells that can let you summon flame, ice, barriers, shields, or even heal yourself or others. The other being using it to augment your physical abilities and utility, granting you high combat capabilities." Ginjo would then lightly flow his hands through Selena's hair, and during this time Hitsuyona allowed everything thus far to sink in. This concept was very interesting to Hitsuyona, especially so when having heard the girl earlier mentioning his own Reiastu in comparison to the seemingly experienced man before him. There were of course mentions of underdevelopment, but he had no quarrels with the way it was worded. He was mostly intrigued at the fact this 'reiastu' had uses that could be very practical to his survival, most specifically the capability of creating fire and healing ones wounds. He would surely have to learn more of it, but for now he'd need to finish hearing them out. "Basically what he said! It takes a lot of control, and practice though! I'm apparently really, really naturally gifted in it and it even took me several years to get where I am now~" "But basic control is pretty easy to get. Taking it beyond that is where it gets more complex .. still, you could probably do it- if that's why you're asking." he nodded, before continuing; "As far as the fight rings .. it's about what it sounds like. Most villages and towns have them .. dog fights, chicken fights, and fight rings. You enter, people place bets, you win until you get the pool or sections of the pool of bets depending on the rules that village has. Not all places have them though. Sometimes you can use weapons, sometimes its unarmed only .. I usually make my money in them; if I can't then I do other chores around a village instead." He would then lean lightly upon the blade balance on his shoulder after a single moment of silence. "Do you wanna learn?" Everything had been summed up nicely, but the question that was returned to himself very direct and somewhat vague. Which did he want to learn? All of it, some, merely the fighting? Even if the man wasn't leaning in any one direction for his question, Hitsuyona had already decided from nearly the start. These capabilities seemed almost necessary if he wished to further himself for his own sake. His reply, at least at first, was nearly instant. "Yes." A monotone expression and voice in this word, followed by a singular second of silence. "However, I do not wish to learn kaido." He looks down at his wounds, and places his hand over one of the scars. "They're a reminder, not a burden. Pain is the greatest mentor, whether sought or befallen upon you." Letting out a sigh, he looks to Selena with a slightly less 'blank' face. It was as if he were trying to look normal or 'happy', but it would come across more so as weird. He hadn't used the muscles needed to smile in a long time, after all. "Can you tell me what my reastu looks like? Its a weird question, but it might help me understand more. From the sounds of it, learning about the reastu will help me to do all of these things you speak of, firstly to make use of my reiryoku, and the rest shall follow, right?" Ginjo leans back whilst keeping his calm demeanor about himself; meanwhile, Selenda would take a moment of laughter to follow Hitsuyona's awkward gaze. "I don't think you could do Kaido anyway, so that's ok~ If you wanted to try I would teach you but I think not bothering is a good idea." She would suddenly have a change of heart, or a sense of an overreaction to her very own words at this moment in time, and begins to raise her hands flailing them about. "I-I'm not saying I don't believe in you! It's just that uhm .. Kaido requires a peaceful mind, and a complete control over your inner turmoil .. even Ginny can't do it because of that!" She now appeared to have a frown, as she didn't wish to come across the wrong way, but Ginjo would merely direct his attention back to Hitsuyona with a nod. "I'm decent with Bakudo and Hado .. the offensive and defensive spells; but I'm no good when it comes to Kaido. I can't even manage its most basic fundamentals .. people that have lost much, and can't find inner peace with their lives can't usually use it." From the basic comment he'd given on it Hitsuyona devised he'd likely never be capable of it's uses anyhow, but it didn't matter given his mindset at the moment. He did however gain a bit of insight on Ginjo, even if it appeared as vague and useless to the many, it gave the two some form common similarity. Selena then chimes in with her generally uplifting and exciting tone, after having almost missed the opportunity to explain the man's reiatsu. "It's a pretty blue! It's like big brothers- though his is a darker shade .. it's like fire too and his is more like water .." This appeared to pique the interest of Gin, who would then raise an eye to the comparison she'd just made. It was clear he hadn't payed particular attention to Hitsuyona, or wasn't as skilled in such a detailed examination. A moment after her explanation Ginjo joins in with his own extended examination. "It smells like metal as well .. has a very natural feeling to it; animalistic. Sort of like when you corner a beast on a hunt- you give off the same feeling, a willingness to bare your teeth but a preference to avoid confrontation maybe ..? Dunno. I don't know you well enough." Hitsuyona was interested in the findings of himself, and felt like this description was fairly accurate. He turns to look at Ginjo with a more relaxed expression. “After hearing how this works I think I sorta understand. I believe always been able to ‘feel' something odd about people, like a gut feeling about them. That's what feeling their reaistu is , at least I think. I'll see yours on my own time, some things I must learn my own way.” He let's out a light smirk, something much more easy and accurate than his attempted smile. “Save your breath for this hado and how I may use reaistu for combat.” He shrugs after the fact, and looks back up as he take a relaxed position once more. 15. 001 l An Unlikely upbringing A large arrangement of billowing white fills the skies as it covers the light of which once descended upon a building so rugged. The foundation of its entirety was feeble so that it appeared to slant and sway whenever the breeze commanded such. The very wood that made up the shack shown apparent signs of water damage from the bloated rotting wood holding its self upright, which was without a doubt seemingly soon to fall. Within this termite infested catastrophe there lies a child whom had come to call this place a 'home' of sorts. He, like the building, held a daunting image of a figure, which appeared to be on the brink of destruction. The boy's body showed extreme signs of starvation, and his hair looked almost as if they were straws upon a broom. Just from the appearance one would presume the child to be near immobile, but the child did move round the shack. The child's fickle figure easily exposed his ribs and skeletal structure in a number of places. In fact, the hunger that overwhelmed himself had become so strong that it rivaled the ravaging beasts that seldom plagues the Rukongai districts, so much so that he'd been on the verge of becoming a plus on a path to wickedness. A soul that completely represented the wild endeavors of the vast forests that surround itself, which was what the boy had essentially became, that very instinctual animal hell bent on survival. Such survival as of recently consisted of a need for nutrients, and surprisingly this place had given him the most that was accessible in his current state. The boy wasn't capable of hunting any prey with his mal nourished body, and eating fruit of the forest had proven to be a rather risky decision. The last time he had chosen to do so left him sick for an extended period of time, which led him to find shelter in this very spot. This shell of a child that remains would have appeared to be looking for something in particular, as his eyes scan the walls that surround himself. The half druping lids blink as he begins to walk towards a single wall, which was presumably what he'd been looking for even though no exact signs of clarification where shown. Upon reaching it he pulls back a loose plank to see a variety of crawling insects that mostly consist of termites and grubs. His blank expression remains while reaching the other hand into the amass of bugs to take back for consumption. The bitter taste no longer mattered, nor did the 'sensation' of the moving insects, in fact, he had even grown to endure the pain of their stings and bites while trying to eat them. While he devours the unlikely meal it would become apparent that a visitor had come within earshot recently, but the exact nature of such a visit was completely unknown alongside its species. He could hear the approaching footsteps more clearly as they neared, and turns his insect juice covered face towards the now silloughette entering the doorway. The person would soon come to enter and be forced to gaze upon the barely living subject who now feasts on the most rugged of choices. The man that soon walks into such a sight appears to be elderly, and was presumably searching for a place to rest for a few moments before his travels home; however, such a sight left himself to feel obligated to approach the poor soul. Upon such an action the boy lifts his grips on the plank before retreating slowly to the corner of the single room shack while staring intently at the man who slowly makes his way towards him. "It's ok child, I am not here to hurt you." The child didn't know how to respond and intently stares upon the man still looking as if he didn't want him to come any further. "Back.." A face of utter confusion comes from the elderly man as he takes a step back in order to oblige while devising a way to possibly help the boy that stood before him. After a brief moment he would reach into his pack to pull out a loaf a bread, which immediately catches the attention of this child. "I was saving it for the trip home, but you clearly need it more than I." He would extend the bread outwards in order for the child to accept this offer, but the boy still seemed reluctant to some extent. There was sliht moment taken as he eases from the corner to slowly approach. His hand extends outwards to snatch the bread before once again retreating to his corner. It wasn't long before he would sit down knawing away furiously at this food while the grown man stares awkwardly with a slight grin. He would once again attempt to approach, but it alerted the child who takes on defensive positioning once again, halting the process of eating his meal. ------------ It has been weeks since this altercation, but the man didn't leave to never return. Even though he couldn't manage to get near the boy let alone help him in any physical way, he did manage to stop regularly with food and water. Over time the child began to open up to the idea of this elderly man, who revealed his name to be Gaiu, and revealed his own name to be Hitsuyona, which was given to him by his own accord. The boy mentioned that he chose to call himself this due to feeling 'necessary' to live no matter what. During these visits the man had managed to actually be near the boy enough to give him simple medical attention like bandages, and even teach him the basics of how to hunt small game. One day did however come that the man ceased appearing, which brought the childs small hope for humankind back down to menial levels. He was left with the conclusion that the old man died, and decided now that he was somewhat recovered he would have to leave this place before he could not longer muster the strength to be able to do so. "Your very name is proof of the extraordinary accomplishments and essentialities you will one day achieve." - Gaiu to Hitsuyona the day before he vanished never to return. The young soul wanders diligently along a dirt path somewhere between the 79th and 80th districts, which were most commonly referred to as both 'the slum districts', and also well known as 'the path of which few return'. His composure had slightly changed since his first days within the shack he had since abandoned. Now the child looked more like a healthy young man than a starved child, but he was still leaning towards a very thin physique. He seemed to walk as quietly as possible during his travels, although the path would appear to be vastly abandoned with few signs of previous tracks as of recently. This was due to an overwhelming sense of precaution that came from his abuse from both nature and man alike over the years. Over time Hitsuyona had grown cold, even for a child. He had hopes to live out a simpler life than he had before, and aimed to move somewhere where he might be able to more easily obtain sustenance, or possibly even find more like that man if they somehow presented themselves in a right way. Little did that young boy know that he was slowly making his way farthest from where such a fate would be remotely possible, as the outer districts comprised of ones without law, and at times it seemed as if though their sense of right and wrong had become null. -------------- [Present] "Hello? Do I need to repeat the question?" Two men sit at a table across from one another within a cold damp room, which happens to be one that is somehow within the remains of what was once an abandoned cave. It's cold atmosphere caused the man who spoke to release visible breath that lightly fades as a teal haired individual looks up from the table his eyes were once set upon. The man staring into that of the question maker appears to be in a multiplitude of shackles while donning a solely white outfit. "That won't be necessary, I merely got lost in my train of thought while trying to recall an answer to your question. The memory can sometimes fade when you age a few hundred years." The latter of his statement had actually been false in this scenario due to the fact he was recalling events in grave detail. In either case, the prisoner raise his hands to rest upon the table whilst they jangle in his attempts to reposition himself. "I was abandoned at infancy for one reason or another, so trying to locate any of these 'shizukesa' that you claim myself to belong to will not occur through my medium, whether I bear their 'mark' or not." The original questions where given several at a time, with a variety of which that revolved entirely on specifics involving a family name Shizukesa. The Central 46 believes he is an active member of such a clan though, so trying to claim anything but had so far proven to be persistently annoying. "Very well, then where did you spend your childhood, and who were your guardians, given you were a pure born soul you would have needed them to survive." Hitsuyona looks fairly annoyed with signs of such in his facial expression. His glare stares deep into the eyes of the man's, as he leans in more closely before halting when his reach of the chain had been met. "I was abandoned at infancy, and survived through the will of nature itself. I've no clue of my methods, or if I am the product of a string of multiple guilty souls that took me in for short periods of time. The earliest I recall is roaming a forest of limitless danger while somehow living long enough to find my next meal." The interviewer seemed pleased enough with this answer, or at least felt that prying for something he might have assumed to be more truthful would be useless. He then flips to another page to view before continuing. He looks at the prisoner with a bit of judgement in his eyes, and mockingly asks his question. "You clearly knew more than enough before reaching the academy, please tell me, how did you learn to fight on your own, and what else might have you done during this time of your life?" The young soul leans back to release the straing of his bindings before letting out a sigh, and holds his hand up as if to signify he needed a moment. "Take as long as you need, so long as it doesn't take long." ----------------- wc:1,811 TWC:1,822
